I still don't know why they'd release Back to the Future to compete with their own re-recording. But then again, we have two releases each of Sand Pebbles and Vertigo from the same label.

I don't know if they want to do it, but IF they're going to release BTTF, now seems to be the time, with the US DVD set coming out soon.Still hoping for Great Train Robbery, but I'd rather see them do it as a "standard", non-limited DE...short on cash!

Joe Versus the Volcano came out on DVD right after Varese issued their CD, if the past could be any indication of what the future may hold. Same with The Bride, I think -- could be wrong on that one.I would instantly snatch up a copy of Back to the Future. So much fun.

But seriously, could this be a Christmas-related score at all? They've already done Die Hard, so about the only other one that pops into my head (that's not already available in good lengthy form) is Gremlins. Bet it's not that!

Mancini's SANTA CLAUS THE MOVIE would be nice, especially with any extra score that wasn't on the old LP version.

Predator by Alan Silvestri
Robocop by Basil Poledouris
The Great Train Robbery by Jerry GoldsmithOhhhh....myyyyyyy......
I was going to get Robocop months ago, but then i saw a post by Ford at FSM stating that Varese was planning or working, i forget which, on a Deluxe Edition. Now i am glad i skiped getting it.
Predator is something i have wanted for a long long while. Time to throw away that boot i guess, but only until it is officially announced.
TGTR i have heard is very very good. But i have never heard a lick of. Perhaps someone knows where i can listen to some clips of the score?
But this leaves me highly dissapointed with no Back To The Future.

Thaxton and Soundtrack Magazine have been wrong for a year now about Predator and Commando. no reason to assume this time those will be released.I don't understand the fascination with Predator anyway; it's not THAT good. At least not when you put it up against BTTF.
If Hawaii is being released, that is something to be excited about, unless you're Dinko -- then you just don't know good film music.
jusint Boiggun, if ou wanna hear some of he Grate Trayn Robery, I suggest you jjst rent the damn movie, as it's pretty prominent in that flick. great score!

Unless something's changed the club releases should be films from the Fox vaults so that leaves the Master series up for grabs.posted 10-29-2002 07:42 AM PT (US)

What's wrong with two -- dashes?Tip of the day: In WordPerfect if you type -- it will replace it with one long dash.

That`ll possibly be a no-sale then. I really can`t stand the Commando score, never been a big fan of Horner`s 48-Hours style. Plus I already have Gorky Park and never listen to it anyway.Predator is a possibility, though the listenability value of the complete score is on the negative side. Too many suspense bits that drag on for minutes without much taking place.
Big, while a nice score, is something I wouldn`t pay that much for.
Can`t really say anything about Hawaii, Bernstein`s stuff has never really been my cup of tea.
Ropocop, on the other hand, would be interesting IF it has a substantial amount of unreleased music, though the film itself doesn`t. Out-takes perhaps?
NP: Godzilla (Arnold) (This deserves a proper complete release before any of the things mentioned above)

The Great Train Robbery by Jerry GoldsmithIf this information is true, I'm super-psyched. I've got everything up there, albeit Hawaii (which I really, really want!), but it'd be nice to have remastered, if not lengthier albums. I'd put down some cash for them (now I just have to locate... some cash).
As far as the validity of information in Soundtrack Mag? Well... I won't hold my breath.

Ah yes, Predator. I hope they also include the "Setting the Trap" cue that was missing on the boots.
I heard that some company bought the Predator score rights at Fox 6 months ago. But which company was a secret. Wouldn't be surprised if Varèse was behind that
Anyway, looks like we finally can expect an official Predator release by Varèse or another label!

BTW, does anyone know why exactly Varèse wants to keep their releases an absolute secret? There is no negative meaning behind this question, I'm just curious.

oh, just to build the hype.
It's more fun to find out what they are when they're announced than to have someone who claims to have inside info.the only safe bet with the Varese Club is that we MAY get one of those mentioned up top by virtue of the lucky guess, but not all of them.

You know, I see 2 Varese Predator CDs on eBay right now. And probably about 20 in "Completed Auctions"And every other day a new, sealed copy pops up.
I am starting to think Predator didn't sell out because fans wanted it so badly, but rather it seems a thousand copies were bought up to sell on eBay.
Recently you all know Cherry 2000, a previous edition, was released again. Can we even hope Predator will get another release?
