His work for the tv show "CHiPs"

I have been told that he composed 120 hours of music for the show.

Wonderful sweeping score and great faced paced action/suspence pieces.

With a taste of that film score era type music- being a combination of orchastra and electronic. Sort of like a weird version of disco, the best way i know how to descirbe it.

With a out of business company haveing success with Knight Rider, and a still in business company that sold out it's Airwolf 2CD and are planning a second edition, i can only assume CHiPs would be as popular as Knight Rider and Alan Silvestri being very well known, that such a CD release of CHiPs would do well. A limited edition, maybe 3,000 numbered copies. That sound about right?

Please tell me your thought son this everyone.

I think I'd rather have Showtime released. But I wouldn't buy Showtime, either.

Chips might be good, but what I really, really, really want is for Deutsche Grammophon to release a multichannel SACD of the DeltaForce score.

Now that would shut up all those classical nuts saying that film music is crap.

I did not mean to say "disco" but rather "techno"

And please, seriously, would you buy it? Pretend it s for sale, not "Oh maybe i would, but i would rather have..."

I am trying to be serious here.

Seriously, No I would not buy it.
It was a great TV series I watched it all the time, I loved the opening theme music, but the music is not something I'd like to listen to in this present day.

    Here's a better question:

    Would Justin buy it?

I really don't know, I'd have to hear some sound clips?! I watched most of this series at the time it played and considering I was already deeply into film music at that time I don't remember anything jumping out at me saying 'this is great'...Silvestri didn't catch my attention until Back To The Future, to this day I don't have any burning desire to own the Romancing/Jewel Michael Douglas film scores or Clan Of The Cave Bear...since BTTF Silvestri has gone very high in my esteam and I look forward to his scores.

If CHIPS ignited a spark then I'd be willing to take a chance, I have a good memory and unfortunately I don't think this will be the case!

Hell yes i would buy it, i loved the work for that show.

Am i amtrying to release it? I am seriously thinking about going though channels, asking, finding out what i need to do and how to do it and where to start and what not, i understand it takes alot of money and it could take a couple years before i even get permission, but it's worth the wait.
Ban loans, help from maybe a jiont partnership from another company, whatever.

As for sound clips, i recorded an episode, i think it was called "Nightingale" and i plan to record parts of the score to a casette and maybe someone here would be kind enough to post them?

I wanted to get more clips, but it seems right about my inspiration, the cable station showing it, stops.

Never heard anything about this score. I would have to hear some clips before I considered buying some sort of release.

In terms of TV scores, I'd much rather have Silvestri's work on "Tales from the Crypt". His music for that show was terrific...which is really something given the fact that (judging from other episode scores from the likes of Bill Conti, Bruce Broughton and so on) you could've bought a Happy Meal with the music budget of the show AND still have enough left over for an apple pie. Just my opinion.

    Justin,

Good luck. I would recommend you stay away from dealing in scoretrading if you want to be taken seriously by the film biz. If I were a film studio guy and you came to me, I would handle due diligense on you and make sure you are on the up and up. If somebody saw your posts about CD-Rs and the like, it could scare them off.

Just me being nice...Not picking on you.

    Good reminder.

But of course, everyone knows scoretrader is dead...

    Thank you Taylor.
