The new BMW Film is out, HOSTAGE directed by John Woo. The music is done by Steve Jablonsky, and is pretty cool - if you're a fan of the Media Ventures sound. (If not, then we already know what you think.

Nice job. ;-) Even if it remind me Broken Arrow...but overall, I liked it. Like the whole serie of movies for BMW. ;-) But in BMW movies serie, I still prefer the Ambush movie directed by John Frankenheimer..:-)which one do you prefer?

I downloaded the movie last night. Musical wallpaper I must say, with Steve doing the Hans Zimmer and Harry Gregson Williams style licks...But with less potency..
But that's expected, I guess. John Woo did a good job with a limited budget, though it's a toned down version of every Wooism.. Still better than most job though IMHO..

I think this is BMW Film's best production yet. Too bad the encoding done on the downloadable Windows Media Player clip is at such a low bitrate. I guess it's hard to call 1516kbps a low bitrate, but it still looks like crap.Last season's clips look much better. The grainy "Powderkeg" film was encoded at about twice the bitrate of this one.

Sorry to bring back such an old topic, but DirecTV recently introduced a BMWFilms channel (channel 352 for those that have it), showing all three films of Season 2 (which I find odd as a label considering that more films were shot for Season 1) for a continuous 6(or 3, I can't recall exactly)-hour period. BUT after the 6-hours, they would take the channel off the air, and sporadically bring it back for the same 6(or 3)-hour block (I don't have the schedule, sorry).Seeing how Season 2 is overseen by the Scott brothers (both of whom we all know by now love Media Ventures), is there a chance that Media Ventures will produce a CD (a la the Director's Cuts discs they have been pumping out for other media productions) for these films? Steve Jablonsky did an excellent job on his first stint as the primary composer. Too bad the credits for Hostage cut off his music abruptly near the end.
