Hey guys,What do y'all think of Elfman's CHICAGO? I got my advance copy last Friday, like most of us, obviously, and I dunno, I think it sounds great. The bass impromptu in track 4 is kinda bad though, but I don't know if we should blame Elfman or the bassist, Mark Pollack, as he is credited in the liner notes of this advance copy of the score for CHICAGO.
Overall, I like this jazzy Elfman. Very "cool cat", and I most of all love the adaptation of the Batman theme he makes for muted trumpet in track 2, at around... oh well, you all have the advance copy of this CD, so I'm sure you can find it.
How come there are no votes yet on MM.com under New Releases? Go vote, since we all have the advance copy to the CHICAGO score by Danny Elfman.

Hey there Marky Mark,Well I'm surprised you're asking me this question since, as everybody knows, we all get advance copies of film scores. Always. And I'm being very serious here. Where's your copy, Mark?
Anyways, here it is, the track listing for the advance promo copy of the CHICAGO score which will come out way later, but since we're all MM.com members and score fans we all got an advance copy:

O-k....Imagine there was a little
at the top of the very first post... and another little
at the top of the post where I wrote the fake track titles (courtesy of the inimitable Dan Goldwasser)... does the sarcasm become any clearer? Is it more obvious now? Can't you tell that I'm obviously spoofing all those threads which have been going on recently (especially the Potter thread, the title of which I reprised word for word, replacing "Potter 2" with "Chicago") about people receiving tons of promo copies all the time and acting as though everyone gets promo copies, as if nobody just buys CDs in stores anymore?Obviously, I should've been more obvious, like maybe adding a tenth repetition of "since we all have the advance copy of the CHICAGO score by Danny Elfman", because apparently the guy who emailed me begging me for a copy of the score (CD or MP3 would do) did not get it.

Quite funny this. While you are obviously having a bit of fun at the expense of some recent topics, wouldn`t it perhaps be a bit more amusing to let the `confusion` continue a bit longer before making it clear that it was all a pisstake.
Anyway, keep it up. The bit about the Batman theme was very good!
