God, I hope they put out an album. Since it's mostly been ambient/electronica/score stuff, probably not -- not a ton of "avail. on...records" value, but if they can do PROVIDENCE, THE MOLE, SCRUBS, et al, then why not celebrate the beauty that is the music of this awesome, cinematic, kinetic show with a score album. If not, if anyone has like an Emmy promo, I'll be your best friend if you give it to me. I kid! Peace out...

I've said it before, I'll say it again... Michael Giacchino should have gotten an Emmy nomination for his work on the show. I'm hoping he will get one the next go-round. I can't think of another composer on a show currently being produced currently who has the task of coming up with so much new material on a weekly basis, what with the globe-trotting nature of the show and all of the characters involved. Michael is able to do this and keep the music fresh and exciting every time out. As far as a CD of music from the show, Justin Boggan posted recently that he'd acquired a disc of music from the show. Perhaps he'll elaborate on what's on the disc. There is also a very good possibility that a disc of music was prepared for Emmy consideration as DVD screeners of select episodes were distributed but I've seen neither hide nor hair of it.

You can get samples of the Alias score by going to http://www.michaelgiacchino.com/credits.html I'm not sure where Justin got his copy... maybe from Giacchino's assistant... but the CD Michael sent me for my radio show is significantly longer. Curious... I will be talking with Giacchino sometime this week and I'll look into the availablity of the "pilot promo" and the disc he gave me. Stay tuned, -Erik-

Hey Eric, you know, you did say you can listen to samples, which also contain titles. So you could at least get 13 of the titles for the disc you have by comparing cues.

That is very true. I just need some time to compare. Thanks for the suggestion. -Erik-

I think everyone knows where i got my copy. The main difference between mine and Erik Woods is you are more likely to get a copy of mine. I haven't had a chance to fully take it in so i can not as of this moment give my opinion about it. I think mine was more like a thing the composer made for people involved in the making of the show. Only went to a few people.

The score to the last episode was fine, but certainly nothing I'd want to listen to on a stand alone CD.

No, I don't think anyone knows where you got this from, Justin. Why don't you tell us?

Good question. Michael Giacchino isn't handing out copies of ALIAS like candy these days. Ryan NP: HANGING UP / Hirschfelder / 4-disc expanded (anyone have the 5th disc?)

Good lord people.

I heard somewhere that JJ Abrams, the show's creator, was planning on getting a Soundtrack released. Anybody else hear this?
