For those of you who still didn't know, the "Once More, With Feeling" CD is finally coming out this coming Tuesday. It's the long-awaited release of the songs from the BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER musical episode from last season. Moreover, it will contain score music from the great, the one, the only... Christophe Beck! The album producer(s) and Beck have chosen the perfect episodes to represent on the CD:
* "Hush", the award-nominated episode, which featured some amazing thematic work from Beck in the fashion of Danny Elfman;
* "Restless", the season four finale, which featured some great experimental and atonal music, a great amalgam of some great musical styles;
* "The Gift", the season five finale, which Beck scored instead of the crappy (yes, crappy) Wanker. The big finale cue, "Sacrifice", has been included on this CD.No, this isn't promotion; this is just an excited fan getting what he's been waiting for :) Here's the complete tracklisting, as shown on HMV.com, which offers a more detailed listing than PeterK (wink wink, nudge nudge):
1. Main Title
2. Overture / Going Through the Motions
3. I've Got a Theory / Bunnies / If We're Together
4. The Mustard
5. Under Your Spell
6. I'll Never Tell
7. The Parking Ticket
8. Rest In Peace
9. Dawn's Lament
10. Dawn's Ballet
11. What You Feel
12. Standing
13. Under Your Spell / Standing (reprise)
14. Walk Through the Fire
15. Something to Sing About
16. What You Feel (reprise)
17. Where Do We Go From Here?
18. Coda
19. End Credits (Broom Dance / GRR Argh)BONUS TRACKS
20. Suite from "Restless" (Willow's Nightmare / First Rage / Chain of Ancients)
21. Suite from "Hush" (Silent Night / First Kiss / Enter the Gentlemen / Schism)
22. Sacrifice (from "The Gift")
23. Something to Sing About (sung by Joss Whedon and wife Kai Cole)
If I'm not mistaken, "First Kiss" from "Hush" would mean we're gonna get the Buffy/Riley love theme :)

Hopefully I'll be able to find it around here. If not, the glories (small "g" not big "G") of the internet!Kevin

Well,amazon.com already lists the item at $13.99. It also has five music excerpts (the first five tracks, so no score excerpts).
CDNow also has it (but no soundclips yet), at $15.49.

I pre-ordered it a few weeks ago, so I'm hoping it'll be in the mail today or tomorrow. Guess I'll see.

Well, the CD is out today.I'll probably go buy it over the weekend.
What I'd like to know though for those of you who are fans of the show AND who bought and listened to the CD, is this:
Which scenes in "Restless" are underscored by "First Rage" and "Chain of Ancients", and which scene in "Hush" is underscored by "Schism"?
Even if I recall those episodes scene by scene, I can't seem to remember scenes that make sense given those track titles.

Well, i've listened to the cd now. Sounds GREAT! And of course, the highlight being Beck's score pieces. Especially "Hush" (for me). But the musical is fun too. It's a well produced cd that has just excellent sound quality. But then again, it is legit, and not a boot or anything. I'd recomend it for any Buffy fan and even Beck fans for the 3 suites.

Which scenes in "Restless" are underscored by "First Rage" and "Chain of Ancients", and which scene in "Hush" is underscored by "Schism"?"First Rage" & "Chain of Ancients" covers the climactic scene where Buffy (in her dream) wanders out onto the eerie desert landscape. Tara appears, and then the first slayer, Tara voicing the first slayer's thoughts. Then the F.S. and Buffy battle. The suite on the CD reverses these two cues.
"Schism" seems to cover the scene where Tara is running from the Gentlemen and literally bumps into Willow. The suite ends with material from the following moment where Riley and Buffy are fighting the Gentlemen's minions - as B. and R. freeze, their weapons aimed at each other (this is the first time they discover each other's real identity) the music concludes with a percussive hit just before the ad. break. That's how the suite ends.

Thank you very much, Stephen :)The selections from "Hush" seem like the best from the episode, really. As for "Restless", well, they sound great, but I was hoping to get the fabulous percussive cue during Xander's wild labyrinthine chase, when he starts crawling out of the van, and into a room with the demonic Anya, and ending all the way back to his basement. That was some great music there.
Anyways, yeah, I think all of us Chris Beck fans should be thankful for this release. It took some time, BUT they got it right, I think. Haven't listened to it yet, but from a theoretical perspective, hehe, it sounds solid.

Kevin,
They're available on the Web. I don't remember the websites, but that's where I got them myself. I also often see some tracks from the promo on KaZaA and other such music exchange programs.
