The only Rosza discs I have are the Chapter III EL CID and THE VIPS, and TIME AFTER TIME. What other ones are particularly recommended? (I know there's a Gerhardt compilation out there, but I don't have that on CD, just on a very battered cassette version).

    NP: RED DAWN (Basil Poledouris)

PS: Woohoo! I got Thread 10000!

You must get the 2-Disc sets of Ben Hur and King of Kings.

and Intrada's re-recordings of both Julius Caesar and Ivanhoe, under the mighty baton of Bruce Broughton.

and FSM's release of Lust for Life is as important as it gets.

Ben-Hur is my favorite all-time score, and King of Kings is creeping up there.

for lesser known stuff like Moonfleet, the Miklos Rozsa at MGM 2 CD set is good to get. Who knows? some of that stuff may not ever get released at this rate.

NP -- the Gerhardt Korngold disc; the Rozsa disc is good as well, giving you glimpses at other Rozsa scores.

Double Indemnity (on one cd with the lost weekend and the killing)
Lust for Life (gorgeus lush score)
Dead Men Donīt wear plaid (his last)
    Spellbound (his oscar winning score)

    to name just a few

I have to agree about getting a complete LUST FOR LIFE it's pretty major.

There is a cheap CD of recordings of The Red House and Quo Vadis Rozsa did in the 50s that I'm fond of.

Silva has an Essential Rozsa that some swear by as well.
