    Hello guys and gals,

    NEED HELP!!!

I'll be producing six 3-minute vignettes for my university's hall of fame induction ceremony, in which six UCF Alumni (volleyball, baseball, and football players, including Daunte Culpepper) will be highlighted.

What I was wondering is....any suggestions on what I can use to underscore my vignettes? I was thinking, Forrest Gump, The Natural, and Rudy. However, I probably need at least 12 different scores. So...any other suggestions? Now, they don't necessarily HAVE to be sports film scores...it's pretty self-explanatory actually...anything that works as an effective music bed for highlights and interviews (a-la ESPN documentaries).

    Any suggestions will be appreciated.

    Thanks.
    a.h.

Vangelis' CHARIOTS OF FIRE. Overused. Fine. Still effective.

    Some Copland Americana.

Zimmer's GLADIATOR... particularly the beginning of "The Battle" and "The Might of Rome".

Young's "The Love Parade" from WONDER BOYS, for some underplayed score.

I dunno... I think Americana and the MV sound (boy, I can hear Badelt screaming "THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS AN MV SOUND!!!!" from here) are sure bets.

    Randy Edelman's Dragonheart

    Track: To the Stars

I'm sure a lot of the people attending will recognize this piece of music due to its use in many trailers.

I used Dragonheart for one of my films for my classes and people kept asking me what cd was that from.

Spicy Ramen beat me to it

    I guess you could use:

Independance Day (The end of the president's speech)
Robin Hood - Prince of Thieves (Main Title)
Mr. Holland's Opus (An American Symphony)
    Dragon (The Dragon's Heartbeat)

+ loads of others I can't remember right now

how ironic then that it's music best applied to a context different from that which it was originally intended.

Aaron, this might sound crazy, but the following tracks just popped into my head:

"The Chase Begins" and "All the Little Children" from RAT RACE (John Powell)
"The Phantom" from THE PHANTOM (David Newman)
"Birth of Bubble Boy" from BUBBLE BOY (John Ottman)

    What do you think?
