    Well,
It looks as if I got my first scoring project. And it's Scary Movie 3. I don't even know how to compose. But that's ok,
    neither does Mark Isham.
A composer happened to e-mail me asking about this.
Well movie over Loren Alan Davis.
I might just take all your projects away from you. http://us.imdb.com/Name?Johns,+Jeffrey

    No kidding.

You people are so self obsessed that you pull crap this. I am a film editor and I've done some little things and big things in my area, but I don't go up on IMDB and post that I'm editing “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets."

Yeah. We leave that to "Award-winning composers" like Loran Alan Davis.....

I guess now wouldn't be a good time to tell everyone that I'm helping John Williams on Episode III. Due to time constraints with Indiana Jones IV, he will write the themes and I will develope them into a full score.

    Ok,
Did I SAY I was doing the score?
Noooo. I was posting this cause I thought it was funny and a composer who I am working on a website for asked me if I was starting to compose music. I told him no and he sent me this link to IMDb.
My original post was just being a smartass about it like Loren Alan Davis.
I didn't say it was true nor is it.
(Except for the Mark Isham part) =)

I thought the irony in the original post was quite obvious.

It is I who has landed Scary Movie 3.
I certainly hope this high-profile assignment will lead to Oscar success!

Well....I don`t care one way or the other, I`m just glad real composers like Beltrami or Debney don`t have to deal with this **** ....I think this might be a job for Isham....films of this quality need a corresponding anonymous wall-paper score and our Mark is sure the one to deliver one of those

Jeff, how much of your score will be on the Scary Movie 3 soundtrack coming on Varese next month?

    Hey,
Only 15 minutes of my original score will be on the varese cd. I had to use 3 union orchestras so the cost is way to much. I asked about doing a isolated score with commentary for the dvd, but good ol Ford talked them out of it.
    Thanks Ford!

Isn't James L. Venable, of Samurai Jack, scoring it?

By the by, who scored the Star Wars cartoon shorts Samurai Jack creator made?

So will the soundtrack be cluttered by songs that youngins will like just so that it will sell? I hate having songs in the middle of the score... especially when you're using a giant overpayed orchestra!

The cd will contain about 40 minutes of various artists songs. All remixed by P Diddy for the album.

    Jeff, long time, no see.

E-mailed by a composer? Ha. When will I ever get credited on imdb for all my wonderful work? :-)

I had the displeasure of seeing "Scary Movie 3 last night. I wanted to see a movie and the only two that looked worth a damn were SM3 and Elf.
Against the review that said this movie was terrible and then got two thumbs down, I decided to see this anyway. Why? What possessed me you say? I stil;l am unsure.
I wasted 7.50 to see this terrible movie. What few REAL laughs there were were not worth the 7.50 admission.

The only good things? Jeff Johns ... I mean ... James L. Venable's score. Even if it was a continuous rip off of multiple scores. From Signs to The Ring.
I thought this score was excellantly done.

I knew from his terrific work on Cartoon Network's Samurai Jack that he had it in him.
He took the movie seriously as the score shows.
I just cant' wait for him to get some big action movie one day.
The score was well composed, well orchastrated (In my opinion) and a good listen.

Now if only we could get a CD of score from Samurai Jack. La La Land?

I believe his site was venablemusic.com
