CD41 Records in England has issued a CD of music from Powell and Pressburger films that includes music by Allan Gray and Brian Easdale that hasn't been issued since the 40s.

From Easdale there is about 15 minutes of music from BLACK NARCISSUS, THE SMALL BACK ROOM, and GONE TO EARTH (US title: THE WILD HEART) in addition to the Muir Matheson recording of THE RED SHOES that Pearl also issued.

And from Allan Gray there is about 12 minutes of music from COLONEL BLIMP and STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN (that is different from the HEAVEN music that was issued by both Sony and Pearl).

The CD can be obtained in the US at www.darla.com

Just put The Red Shoes into their search function and $18 later it's yours.

Turns out it's bad news for Brit film music fans. With the exception of one of two pieces which can be found on other CDs, this is all dialogue/music/effects tracks that I could have put together myself. Avoid at all costs!!
