    Ok, sleuths....

"I have a question about the Time Machine soundtrack. I am looking for the specific music found on the DVD beginning at Chp. 9, 0hrs:43min:40sec. It is the same music which begins on the soundtrack CD 39 seconds into the cut Eloi (when the professor first sees the Eloi cliff homes) - only this time, it is done as a soft instrumental. The DVD scene is when the professor is climbing into the upper loft to talk with Mara. This musical part is really beautiful! Is this on the soundtrack? If not, it sure needs to be! I have listened to all the cuts on the soundtrack and I have not been able to find it."

    Go get 'em!

    You just reply...

"Yes, there are only a finite about of notes to use, so all movies are scored with the same music, just re-arranged somewhat differently. Like the food you get at McDonalds, it all comes from the same "vat" of mysterious ingredients, and it is "formed" into your order."

Well, the truth is, John passed away about five years ago and David Arnold has been composing under his name ever since. David was under strict time constraints during Episode 2 and was forced to recycle his Stargate theme for Star Wars.

What's even freakier is that part of the Stargate score sounds like a recycled mix between one of the Star Wars ANH themes and a part in Lawrence of Arabia... So I guess Arnold has been filling in for Jarre and Williams for over 35 years.

"Komponiert" or "kompostiert". Only the former would be music-related.

    Thank you for the correction.

»Ich hab es komponiert.« it is.

As for composting, well someday »ich will das City of Prague Orchestra kompostieren...«
(I'm sorry, it's just that this morning I was listening one of their albums and then played a BBC Philharmonic album which featured two of the same cues... )
