I got word that Jan DeBont has asked Mancina if he would like to score Tomb Raider 2. Mancina is thinking it over for now. I hope that he agrees. I'm sure he would go back to his old days of big orchestral action scores. 2003 is looking good for mancina, Bad Boys 2 and maybe tomb raider 2. Now if only Columbia will let Jan debont do his version of Godzilla like originally was planned and get Mancina to score Godzilla vs. MechafordJeff

If a Jan DeBont/Mancina collaboration on Tomb Raider 2 does come through, this could be a more entertaining movie than the first.Of course, it wouldn't take too much to beat the first. Just a decent screenplay. NP: Goldsmith's "Mom and Dad Save The World"

I agree--a Debont/Mancina could make the movie worth watching. If Debont can get back to his kinetic roots (ala Speed) this might be worth watching.

Yep the only thing that would ruin it would be the return of Angelena Jolie.

Come on, now! If anything, Miss Jolie helped to push the original film into the realm of watchability (though the action was great, the story was sluggish and confusing). Jan De Bont is making movies again? Good. I loved "Speed" and "Twister" was okay, though I haven't seen "Speed 2" (given the film's rep, this will never change) and I'm still kicking myself for seeing "The Haunting" in a theatre (beautiful Goldsmith score aside, everything about the film after the first hour is crap). I look forward to the sequel. Hopefully, Mark Mancina will score it, and while I'm well aware of the circumstances that Graeme Revell was under on the first film, his score is probably his weakest effort.
