Well, some of us waited 14 years for POLTERGEIST and even longer for other scores.... 3 years is a drop in the bucket.

Once again Mr. Dgoldwas, there is a difference.
While you waited 14 years ofr Poltergeist, it was bound to happen since it was from apopular movie and the score by a famous composer.

Millennium is by an underrated composer to a good show that was canceled. 3 years is a long time cause with each year that passes, it becomes more and more likely that it will not happen. and i still don't see dgoldwas on the petition list.

Justin, you once again have NO IDEA what you're talking about. The studio in question DOES NOT CARE about your petition. They ARE NOT INTERESTED in having this music released. You can throw BIG GOBS OF MONEY at them and they still won't care. Why? Who knows... If they did care, there would be score CDs for shows like X-Files, Millennium, Buffy and Space: Above And Beyond. They don't care, they're not interested. Don't you think other people have tried to get this music out there, people who are already in the industry?Please... stop the madness. Invent a better mousetrap.

ahh that's where i tried to make mine different- read the post again and you will find i asked for a composer promo release. Something that is put together by the composer mustly for promotional uses and has no reuse fees. Just like Velton Ray Bunch's The Pretender was a promo before it ever came up for sale.

FOX has their heads up their a$$es as allwys.

I read all kinds of things, from Elektra (The company who released the X-Files movie score) releasing a cd, to FOX releasing one, then saying maybe a special thing for the x-files web site, to Snow himself sating maybe on his own private label. Which got me thinking that he probably did put one together for a private label but never got it released.

I submitt to Snow's good nature if he is reading this.

As for Buffy, another damn shame. At least i got 2 cd-rs of promos for season 2 and 3 score. But that still doesn't cover Beck wonderful work for other season and nothing from Thomas Wamker either.

Beck, for whatever reason, doesn't hand out promos to fans anymore.

So if it wasn't for trading, i wouldn't have this excellant music. Especially season 2.

Just sit back BMikeJ, people like me are trying.

Sounds logical to me, Justin. I'm sure that if there were a release of MILLENIUM (at this point) it would probably be a promo.

But then you gotta ask yourself - if Mark Snow needed to promote his music, do you really think he'd just put out a CD of music from MILLENIUM as examples of his work? A "general promo" compilation album containing various cues from multiple films, shows, and projects would be more realistic.

    From The X-Files Magazine Vol 6, Issue 4 (August 2002) Pg 54:

Note: this interview was conducted towards the end of Season Nine, which wrapped up this last Spring. In other words: it's recent. It's a five-page interview. Check it out.

    quote:
JOE NAZZARO: Are there plans for any more soundtracks in the offing?

MARK SNOW: We're trying to put together another definitive X-Files album, as well as a Millenium album, so I'm hoping those things pan out. Mostly its a matter of choosing stuff from a hundred hours of material, and then trying to figure out a border for all of it. That's where I would get somebody else who has fresh ideas to come in and work on it. There's also talk of another X-Files movie, so that would be nice, if the movie franchise went on for a while.

:Ahem: If Mr. Snow is reading this, I humbly volunteer.

Sadly, each year Snow makes a comment in some article or interview that new cds will come out but at the moment he is still trying, but they never happen.

But i am glad to see he gives a damn. He is still fighting for it. Good for him.

While a promo with various cues is a good idea, i promo with score from just one show or movie is better. And to prove that, Snow has promos of like that.

And what a promo iwht score from just one movie, say, even though it is a poor example, Ernest Saves Christmas, does is shows how Snow can hold the score in the entire movie. That he can compose good from start to end and not just good at the beginning and trail off at bthe end as i have heard Goldsmith's Sum of All Fears does.

But please, now with a promo of MillenniuM really in MillenniuM fans hands and Snow reallt possibley getting FOX to let down it's big damn stuborn walls, a official release may very well happen now.

    Please, sign the petition.

Pretty please, with sugar on top and a cherry.

All good things may at last come to those who wait:
    http://www.aintitcool.com/node/37203 http://www.biglight.com/blog/2008/06/mark-snow-music.html

Personally, I'll believe it when I have those discs in my hot little hands, but it's something to dream about. With the new movie coming out this year, the timing is the best it's liable to be for the foreseeable future. Plus, everyone likes releasing bigger ticket items (like a multi-disc CD set) around the holidays. What a fantastic Christmas present a new X Files collection would be!

Another X Files disc(s) would be great. So many good stuff not released.

X-Files music rules! Give me more electric bandsaw!

Mark Snow should do what Joel Goldsmith did and start his own label... although I'm still waiting for my Stargate discs. (I know, too many legal and rights issues to count)

According to my sources, we'll be getting a 4-disc X-Files set of the best picks this summer. Millennium was great, but this is going to blow it away. Can't wait.

Your sources wouldn't happen to be the members over at FSM who have been talking about this, are they? To sum up the discussion over there: Apparently Mark Snow said in an interview that LaLaLand will be releasing this, and MV Gerhard soon confirmed this but also said to not expect it too soon.
