So I've been looking at some info about the producer's cut of Halloween 6 which is supposed to be far superior to the theatrical release. And one thing that's been standing out in various links is every site has mentioned the much darker and creepier score from Alan Howarth.

So... has anyone here seen this cut? Does anyone know if there's a cd out there of this extra or different music?

Nope, but I do have the Varese release and I noticed that a lot of tracks were different in the film! Kinda disapointing if you ask me....

If I'm not mistaken, a lot of the music on the Varese Sarabande CD is from the producer's cut. That would answer yours and scoreguy's questions

Producer's cut or not, HALLOWEEN 6 is a total waste. Talk about totally re-writing the Michael Myers mythos. He's not just a simple psycho anymore folks, he's controlled by a cult!

Not to mention the fact that Michael has the frame of Drew Carey in the picture...

I really wish the attention on an extended cut of H6 would be instead spent on releasing the directors cut of FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 6: THE NEW BLOOD. Now THAT's a classic entry into the series that deserves to be seen in all it's bloody glory.

Now I definately have to agree with you there. F13 Pt 6. Unfortunately, as of now anyway, it doesn't look like any of the petitions have paid off. Because it is now being released on dvd, but just the standard version. But who knows, maybe later. They just love to make us buy the movies again.

And for Halloween 6. I received an email from one of the websites which is actually selling vcd's of the movie along with what they say is the complete score for the film. Of course, for all we know, the complete score for that cut could very well be the varese release version.

    rkeaveney,
In all fairness to Mr. Myers, he wasn't exactly an average psycho killer.
In the FIRST film, he DID take quite a few hits from Dr. Loomis' gun, and walked away.
So the cult story might make a little more sense.

What else has Howarth scored, besides the HALLOWEEN films?

Paramount consistently puts out the crappiest DVDs in terms of extras. They should be ashamed.

As for the cult controlling Michael, he was much more frightening when he was simply going on his instinct to kill of his entire family, rather then acting as a puppet.
