Topic: A JURASSIC PARK compilation, anyone?

I decided to put together a JURASSIC PARK CD compilation and was wondering if anyone else here has done the same or would like to share ideas on how they would sequence the tracks. Would you put the tracks together in suites for each film or mix the tracks up to form a total album experience?I decided to mix the tracks up, so here is how I sequenced my compilation:
1. Opening Titles (from JURASSIC PARK)
2. Theme from JURASSIC PARK (from the Williams Greatest Hits album on Sony)
3. Incident at Isla Nublar (JP)
4. The Lost World (TLW theme)
5. The Raptor Room (JPIII)
6. Raptor Repartee (JPIII)
7. The Trek (TLW)
8. Journey to the Island (JP)
9. Visitor in San Diego (TLW)
10. Tree People (JPIII)
11. The Hunt (TLW)
12. My Friend, the Brachiosaurus (JP)
13. The Compys Dine (TLW)
14. T-Rex Rescue and Finale (JP)
15. The Hat Returns (JPIII)So, any comments or suggestions?

Well I love long symphonic suites, so I do it that way, but unfortunetly I don't own Jurassic Park 2.However I noticed you are missing Micheal Giacchino's JP Lost World Game score :-) Its orchestral too.

I think Bill Brown's version is all electronic.

Well, if you are going to put TLW video game music into the mix then you'll have to add Giacchino's "Warpath" Jurassic Park" score o that list. Kick ass score BTW!!!

P.S. -- If you didn't read my suggestion at FSM then here they are...
Track 2… use the original soundtrack recording of the JP theme because of the tempo… the re-recording and sequels versions are much too fast… In addition the original JP theme has a choir… the re-recording doesn’t. The theme works much better with the choir, IMHO
Track 13… Try “Rescuing Sarah.” It’s a great powerhouse action cue with a fabulous vintage Williams fanfare finale.
Track 15… I would end the compilation with “Welcome to Jurassic Park” from JP. Again, I prefer this performance of the themes compared to the sequel recordings. Now, I understand why you would want to conclude with the JPIII’s end credit music due to the fact that it includes the “Family Theme” but I think you can find the “Family Theme” in other cues on the soundtrack and place them properly into your mix… I could be mistaken though.
Move “Visitor in San Diego” to track 13… I would love to hear the two big finale action cues from TLW and JP side by side and near the end of the disc.
Anyway, those are my suggestions.

As for acquiring a copy of the score... Unfortunately, the CD, as with most of Michael's work, is not commercially available. But e-mail Michael and might send you something. I can't guarantee anything but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Michael Giacchino's score to the Playstation video game THE LOST WORLD: JURASSIC PARK is available on Sonic Images Records. You can purchase a copy and hear samples by going here http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00000636R/qid=1026159248/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_1/103-6131199-6455817-Erik-

Woods--don't tease us like that! It's the goodness of composers that often gets taken advantage of when they send out promotional material to inquisitive fans.....then the real fans lose out....(embittered, moi?)
I can't rave enough about Giacchino, regardless. I suppose this is a question that deserves revisiting, as well: Why isn't Giacchino's site kept more up-to-date...?

It's the goodness of composers that often gets taken advantage of when they send out promotional material to inquisitive fans.....then the real fans lose out....Hold on there Lancelot!!! I am a real fan and I don’t take advantage of Michael one bit. When Michael sends me his promo's the first thing he says to me is "I want to you hear this. Tell me what you think." Then I mention to him that I will be putting his music on my radio show which in turn flatters him. He knows I love his music and that why he continues to send it to me. BTW, how do you think I take advantage of him?
Now, posting about Warpath or any other unreleased Giacchino score on this board is not to make people jealous. I'm not just some crazy soundtrack collector, collecting rare material just to stuff it into "real" fans faces. If that’s what you think of me as some low life then you've got me all wrong! I mentioned Warpath because most people don’t know that Giacchino composed music for that second Jurassic Park Playstation game and I wanted people to hear some clips that are available on his web site. I even suggested that people e-mail him and ask him for his music. The worst thing he can say is "No." I don’t see how doing something like that has “real” fans loosing out.
Look, I am a huge Michael Giacchino fan and I have had the pleasure to meet him twice. He is a good friend of mine and I wish more of his music could be released to the public. He deserves that! That’s why I post messages concerning his music on these message boards. I’m here to offer information and insight on Michael’s work to help “real” fans hear as much of his music as possible. That’s all.

[/B]Michael doesn't have the time to update his site. Alias and film work take up all of his free time. And any free time that he does have he spends it with family and friends. Now, I did suggest to Michael that I take over his site and help him rebuild it. He says he will think about it... and while he thinks about it… Paul Tonks and I are working... very slowly mind you... to re-construct his site. It won't be completed for awhile but once it's finished I will let you know.

Whoa....I didn't mean that near as harshly as it may have been inferred...for that, I apologize. What I know, of you, is that, yes, you are a large Giacchino supporter, and have had contact with him for some time, (whereas I've only written him, like, twice, which is saying a lot, because I don't usually write "fan mail", because it either seems to sound insincere, and I know the artists don't usually have time to read/respond to all of it, anyway. Writing to beg for a promo probably falls under the former, but I actually am a "true fan", as well, and I would not be one of those who turns around and hawks a promo on e-bay for 50-odd dollars....In this regard, I believe John Debney good-nature was taken advantage of, and I'd hate just as much to see Giacchino fall to a similar fate.
Perhaps some cynicalness was intended on my part, because, I know that you would be privy to Giacchino promos, whereas I, on the other hand, have to buy the MOH:Underground Playstation game (I don't even own a playstation) and return it the next day just to get my "Giacchino fix"...
And as far as the rest goes, it's all good...I know you had mentioned something a while back about trying to re-vamp his site, and since I hadn't seen any development, I reinquired. I'd even like to see an "Alias" score, but I fear that a series soundtrack would likely consist of the garden variety of pop-songs that punctuate the show from time to time.
