    I've been meaning to ask about this for awhile....great score, have enjoyed the Silva disc for many years, but can't help wonder about the quality/content of the 55min. bootie that is out there. I hear it's horrendous...anyone feel like offering a rundown?

    The film is a total riot, lots of slow-mo soft core w/out dialogue and sound efx, great showcase for John Barry's music.
    There were a couple cues I really liked that didn't make the 30min. Silva disc, but can't remember exactly what they were now. I remember the final is especially beautiful, that was probably one of the missing cues.

    With that said, the Silva is an excellent album, since it is paired with another longtime fave, Game Of Death. This gets accused of being too repetitive by many, but hey if you love the theme, it's hard to get enough of it
    Besides, if you get bored, skip to one of the love theme tracks
    The song feels like it could have made the cut as a Bond end title....

    Whadda ya think sirs?
    Sean

    I love the funeral dirge from Game Of Death... The score is a little repetitive but certainly not in a bad way. I would say the music from Night Games is an excellent representation of that score. The sound quality on the bootie is actually worse than horrendous. Poor cassette sources irradiated with noise reduction... only to make the music sound worse. Avoid like the plague.

    Thank you for the info Mr. Mike!

    Sadly, my curiousity is such for this thing, that I'll have to end up trading for it eventually, if just to hear HOW bad it really is Sucks being curious like that....

    Then again, good music can transcend that sometimes, as I was playing VICTORY(Conti) yesterday, and that sounds really rotten, but the music is so good....I'm sure the Varese club will pick that one up someday.

    Anyway, there is nothing more comical than playing that sound efx fight cue from Game of Death really loud

    Ki-ya!

    Or shouldn't you say, "Hi-Keeba!!", Sean?

    I like the NIGHT GAMES suite that is on the album w/ GAME OF DEATH - it seems like it pretty much sums up the gist of the score. Nice melodies, love the female choir anytime Barry uses that color. If I see I ever see the movie, I'm sure it's a laugh riot!

    LOL Brian!

    You got it

    The film is really terrible, but there are lots of scenes showcasing Barry and nekkid girls
    I seem to recall a fight scene as well, but don't remember if it was scored or not....
    It's just a weird movie, about some lonely 'haus frau' who is visited by a mysterious 'chicken man'(guy hiding his face with a mask, and lots of feathered outfits) nightly, to the tune of Barry's siren chorus.

    Sean, if you have this movie, loan it to me when you come down here. I'd love to see it... In return, I will GIVE you a copy of the horrendous bootique recording.

    Done and done amigo

    It's an old full frame Embassy Video thing, a softer transfer you'll never see, but I'll track it down and make one for you....then, perhaps you can see from where my illness sprang!(i.e. having to hear the other 25mins. that didn't make the Silva cut).

    Grazie!

    Why don't we just all gather in your neighborhood and have a film score party?! We all live too far apart...

    Dude! Brian!

    That would be killer, wouldn't it? I know that other members have done such a thing from time to time...ya know, when in my neck o' the woods, you'd be quite welcome in our humble, colorfully decorated and stuffed with 'stuff' abode right?

    You'll be the first to know, Sean! I think it'd be great to make a trip out to California sometime in the next year or so.

    Of course, Chicago is always a nice place to visit...

    OFF TOPIC SECTION:::::

    Seriously, that would be terrific! If you get out this way, you had best drop me a line manos!

    The wife and I haven't travelled yet,really(no long trips), but that would also be quite

    ON TOPIC SECTION:::::::
    To keep this on topic, I was surprised to read the Silva notes for Night Games, stating the only major thing that was missed on their disc was the main title, a traditional adaption of 'Skip to my Lou'. Actually this piece is heard as source music as our 'heroine'lol leaves an amusement park after a morning jog....so, I don't know if this is on the boot, but it's a total throwaway bit, there are much more substantial things in the score than this cue.
    Also notable is Barry's sense of humor in the cue titles...this album has some of THE best I've read

    Yes, the track titles are even better than the titles on our own release of Bound.
