I try not to fun anyone cause people get to pissed.
Maybe it was Laserdisc for Blue Max.
Anyway, a fellow trader has it and Papilion and lists it as isolated.

And i think Islands in the stream is isolated as well.

I'm going to check into that ST: TMP isolated thing, cause i knew someone that siad it was real. It's a difficult to find 2cd set. Not the Stefancos one, cause since it was isolated, it is complete. Every note.

I insist not. You may have had emails from people who claimed their complete soundtrack was from a laserdisc, but it's not so.

quote:
And i may get a few mismatched.

I'm sure there are more laserdisc isolated scores for Goldsmith, but what about others? It's hard to find a list.
I know of Something Wicked This Way Comes by Horner.

BLUE MAX and POWDER might been have isolated on laserdisc, but I don't have them and I don't recall. I have not remembered any others by Goldsmith. Isolated scores were relatively uncommon, as is the case with DVDs.

My single disc version of the Pioneer Special Edition of THE GOLDEN VOYAGE OF SINBAD has a mono isolated music track with the dreaded volume changes. Somebody goofed if that version was not in the Harryhausen box.

I'd willing to start or edit a list of music supplements on laserdisc. It seems a few years too late though. Would this be a useful reference page for filmmusic.com?

Yes, that WOULD be very useful!! However, a while back MajestyX said he would start up a list... and last I heard he was still working on it... perhaps you should coordinate with him?

Thanks!

Blue Max and Powder did NOT have isolated scores on laserdisc. The only isolated Goldsmith scores that I know of from laserdisc are...

Satan Bug (m&e track)
Chinatown
Islands In The Stream
The Omen
Patton
The Boys From Brazil

Powder does NOT have an isolated score on the Region 1 DVD. Outside of Region 1, who knows... Papillon, on the DVD from France, has an isolated score.
Justin, unless you own these things yourself, I wouldn't make claims like this. It undermines your... credibility.

As far as Powder and Star Trek:TMP, I think Justin is confusing the source of the expanded bootlegs for these titles. He might be assuming they came from some sort of iso score track, but in fact, both are from session recordings. Just because certain boots exist, doesn't mean they came from isolated tracks.

NP: 1941 (Williams) Coincedentally from the iso LD track.....many thanks to "R", you know who you are

And '41 is isolated on DVD, too. Sweetness.

I do not know where the Powder boot came from, but I do think it is the complete score, and there is some very good stuff on it. Then again, does anyone know the origins of The Players?
