Has there been a complete CD of Robocop around?

There IS a "expanded" bootleg out there, but it just has the end titles on it. Which were simply an edit of other cues from the film- so skip it!

This is definately one complete (or expanded) score that Varese or Intrada should do. One of Basil's greats. Many greats that is.

I want a "concert version" of the Robocop theme, damnit. Basil, you out there? (Hope not) Re-record Conan already while you're at it.

Is there actually anything missing from the Varese release? It sounds pretty darn complete to me.

I can't say that I'm 100% sure that the soundtrack is 100% totally complete, because I haven't seen Robocop in a while, but if it's not complete, it's at the very least just about complete. Is there anyone here who can point to a single cue of music that's missing?

Various repetitions of the RoboCop theme are missing I think.

Hey, that's okay. The Robocop theme IS GREAT. I love the scene when Robocop is shot down by all the police officers and the theme is played as musical contrast, inviting the audience to feel remorse for the character as well as anger toward his situation.

Ah, well, the cat's outta the bag, then. I can stop holding my breath.

    Whew.

Yeah, I look forward to the expanded ROBOCOP. I wouldn't be surprised if it comes out around the same time as the new MGM Special Edition DVD of the film.....

Another release on DVD. That'll be the fourth. So what's going to be new on this one? Do you know? I've got the Criterion already, which is just awesome.

I hope they can clean up the picture alot more than what was on the CE release. I hope that we get the commentary that was recorded for the Euro-spec edition in addition to the compiled commentary. After that they can pile on all the special features that was on the CE disc and the Euro disc.

Doesn't the current bare-bones DVD release show the thing in the improper aspect ratio of 1.85:1 instead of 1.66:1?

I put this up at FSM,but figure I might as well repeat myself here

Just recently rewatched ROBOCOP, and while I applaud any new goodies from Varese, I really have to ask....why this one? There is really only around 5-7mins.(if that) not on the album.
It would be nice to have things in film order, as all the highlights were placed up front, with the second half consisting of a parade of 1min. cues....

    New stuff I heard:

Three short cues for 'Robo's First Night Out'

Two commericials with new orchestral music

A couple other transitory moments that reprise themes heard earlier

The, admittedly very cool Sux car commercial with a great low, monstrous brass theme....that runs for around 15secs.

and that edited End Title suite....sure nice to have I suppose, although I'm rather hoping that maybe Varese would tag on the newly recorded Robocop 3 concert suite/end title though(longshot, I know).

Not to gripe, I hope I can recant my comments in a few months....or perhaps there are some neat alternate cues that were found, demos, things of that nature?

    Whadda ya think sirs?
    Sean

PS...the 'Gundown Robo in Garage' scene is scored with a reprise of 'Directive IV' and the second half of 'The Dream'. Maybe an alternate, original piece was written here for the most excessive one-sided gun battle ever recorded on celluloid?

How about alternates? Maybe some of his origianl cues were different or completely different than the versions used in the movie.
Maybe even score from scenes not in the final cut of the movie. (Un-used cues)
Well, what ever it is, i will add it to my ever growing list of cds i want to buy, but cannot afford.
The last times i bought something, it was from the used store here at MM.
