Can anyone tell me what the titles and artists are from this 8 track release? It's all songs except for the 4th track which is instrumental. Thanks in advance...the filmscore gal,
Galina

I recall that Elmer Bernstein wrote about 8 (I think) minutes of score for the whole movie. I have no idea what the titles would be.
Meco, a disco "artist," did a cover version, but I don't remember if there was a song album too.

O.K. Well, if you recall Bernstein writing about 8 min. of music, Kimiakane, how long is the score cue?

There's probably a few versions of the song "Blue Moon" on the "American Werewolf in London" soundtrack.
It's been a long time since I've seen this most excellent film...definately should pick up the DVD sometime. I don't remember Elmer Bernstein's score, but I'm interested in how it is. Was the score from "American Werewolf" later used for some scenes in John Landis's Michael Jackson video "Thriller?"[Message edited by Dylan on 06-26-2002]

Thanks Marc, at least I now know the artist of one of the tracks. Oh, and it's not an 8-track tape, I meant to say it's a cassette tape with 8 tracks on it!
The tracks are as follows....
1. BLUE MOON (Vinton, Cooke, or The Marcels...I don't know which but I'm guessing the last choice).
2. YOU GOTTA HURT ME (by unknown)
3. MOON DANCE (by unknown)
4. THE BOYS (this is the instrumental...by Bernstein?) Clocks in at 3:37 time
5. BAD MOON RISING (which we now know is by Creedence Clearwater Revival)
6. NO MORE MR. NICE GUY (not by Alice Cooper and not the same song he did either)
7. WEREWOLF (by unkown)
8. WEREWOLF SERENADE (by Wolfman Jack)
I still can't believe I'm the only person here who has a copy of this soundtrack...can it be that rare?

I found this web site on "An American Werewolf In London" with a few nice short clips of the film and score. I always remember the score being really effective and atmospheric but I didn't realise that it was by Bernstein for quite a few years after seeing it for the first time.atmospheric piano & strings (if the link doesnt work cut & paste it or visit the page below)
Go to the page directly to see the other clips at the bottom of the page
An American Werewolf in LondonWatching these clips makes me wanna see the movie again!!

Thank you Gae for posting those links. Wow, great score! I especially loved atmospheric piano and strings. Yes, seeing these clips makes me crave to view the film as well, as it has been a few years and I haven't seen the newly remastered DVD edition.Dylan

I found this lp over the weekend, and couldn't pass it up for 4 bucks....it's pretty horrendous. I was expecting heavy disco, since were talking Meco Menardo here, but instead it has pretty lame takes on the aforementioned songs, an OK version of Bernstein's theme(I'd still rather have a suite), a second side of songs that have nothing to do with anything in the film(!?) and funny liner notes from John Landis, backing up Meco's 'sucess' and trying to explain why there was no soundtrack album....too short is his excuse, but me thinks licensing the songs would have more to do with it than anything.Still kinda fun to have, but the vocalist is the most white bread cat I've ever heard in my life....
