As I was watching the drama CONSPIRACY, starring Kenneth Branagh, on saturday, I noticed that the director didnīt use any score at all, except for the main and end titles, where he used the Adagio from Schubertīs 8th Symphony. Any other movies without any amount of score ?

The closest I've ever seen to no score in recent films is Cast Away, which largely does away with any scoring until Tom's character leaves the island. Then, it's thrown in sparcely, to effect the powerful emotions that Chuck is experiencing in that life changing time.

The China Syndrome doesn't have anything except source music.

Day of the Woman (aka I Spit On Your Grave) only has a few minutes of music.

Forgot about Bogdanovich who rarely uses background scores. THE LAST PICTURE SHOW, PAPER MOON, DAISY MILLER, TEXASVILLE all use only source music.

Blair Witch Project. Although the movie sucked, there was no score so I figured I'd bring it up.

Actually there is NO score on this one, just a couple of source songs heard in a cafeteria...it's one of the quietest films(for the most part )I've ever seen, and all the more chilling for it.

As Richard stated, the Tarantino pictures seem to have no score (though I haven't seen Jackie Brown), and I think there might be some Scorsese films without any score as well.

Dazed and Confused is also a killer flick without a score.

I thought the abscence of score for the major part of Cast Away was extremely effective, especially when the score eventualy kicks in. I really loved everything about that film.

Resevoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction are 'scored' by funky oldies music, reflecting Taratino's superb taste in music.
