Not that it's a big surprise or anything, but this was probably the worst, most desperate attempt to make a film look "cooler" than it really was (Burwell would've fit). And I thought the score from The Holcroft Covenant was sh*tty. Absolute garbage. Stay far away.

The Bourne Identity was a slick, well-made thriller..a popcorn entertainment movie with
some excellent fight sequences. The only thing that really grated on me during the movie
was the music. YIKES. I didn’t think the music matched the visuals. To me it was
droning glue for wallpaper that induced a headache and sometimes actually detracted from the movie. And I usually like John Powell.

I first noticed his thematic and action composing skills in Antz. I play the Fire Truck track
from Evolution and some of his themes from Road to El Dorado and Shrek all the time. And, of course, there is his wonderful Chicken Run. I want THAT composer back.

Well, there's no accounting for taste, I guess.

Jesus, I could've written a better score than Powell for this one.

Shaun, I thought the film and score was awesome, dude! Moby's "Extreme Ways" was a nice touch for the finale, too.

So, you're the target audience that the studio was talking about when the rejected Burwell's score in place of Powell's "Bongo Pete" score. I figured that was Moby at the end, too.

I like Lola in the movie, but Matt Damon just isn't right at all. I believed Affleck as Jack Ryan (!) more than I believe Matt Damon was a dangerous assassin. And this movie proves my theory yet again that Chris Cooper should ONLY be in John Sayles films named Lone Star.

IMO, Ben Affliction cannot carry a movie, the cube-headed "actor" was pathetic as Jack Ryan (not a very interesting character, anyway) and was downright retarted in Pearl Harbour (which was awful to begin with).

I love Carter Burwell scores and was looking forward to his score. However, FSM reported that Burwell didn't even record any music for the film, so it's not like they dished him out or anything.

I agree with Sean about BenAffliction, but am somewhat surprised by the degree of Shaun's disappointment with this movie.... is it because TimT likes it so much, Shaun? As it is, I usually don't like Damon in any role, but this is the first one I didn't mind. Lola is awesome, perhaps her glow in the film eased up my dislike for Damon. The score? I like the notion of a Burwell score, but that's not what was on screen, so I can't comment on the Burwell score. Powell's score was serviceable and certainly aided the pacing and techno qualities of the sophistication on screen. Perhaps wherever Lola goes, thumping music follows? Fine job. I am wondering, though, since the score was so techno-driven, if Powell didn't remix the entire thing for the soundtrack release. I don't have the album yet, so I am in the dark.

Saw the movie -- absolutely mediocre.

I wouldn't have gotten my nuts in a twist, but after seeing Swingers and Go, this one was literally painful.

All I could think of the whole time was that Liman simply wasn't inspired with the material... Shame.

Guy still obviously has infinte potential, though, and I'll be first in line for his next feature.

Powell's score was (surprisingly) weak as well.

I bought the CD the day after it came out. I was disappointed, because it's not the John Powell that I've come to known and appreciate. But after seeing the movie, I understand why it is the way it is. The theme of an unstoppable urge to find one's own (unknown)identity and the sense of being alone while not knowing why and how it came to be is the focus of the movie and the score itself. Knowing this made the score much more bearable to listen to. Because that's my feeling when I was listening to it (before seeing the movie).
But that's why it doesn't translate well to a listening experience to many people. So I presume to know

    "Go!" is a great movie!

Just saw this today, very fun movie, the score worked but I would have liked to hear what Burwell would have done with it.

Interesting music, I'm sure I'll get it sometime.

"retarted"?....Ah to push one's breakfast back down into the toaster for further cooking. I get it.

I felt that Damon once again proved that he is much better then Affleck. The score wasn't bad, although it didn't really stick in my head so it wasn't great either.
