James, sounds like a nice Don Davis compilation. Apart from the Warriors of Virtue suite, where did the other cues come from?

Eye and the Pyramid and What is the silence? are on a boot that`s floating around. It also has some tracks from Davis` Seaquest episodes and bizarrely The stormy ride to the library cue from Horner`s The Pagemaster (Davis ghost-writing for Horner?)

Nothing like a quick response, eh?

Monkey's right on The Eye and the Pyramid and What is the Silence?

Bleeding Particles is a string quartet available on a CD called "California Composers" by the Arditti Quartet, in print (though somehwat hard to find) on Albany Records, #159.

Illicit Felicity is a solo piano work based on a track from Bound. It's on Gloria Cheng's CD "Piano Dance: A 20th Century Portriat" on Telarc, #80549.

The Winnie the Pooh cut was taken straight from the audiobook itself. There was a series of audio cassettes and CDs produced by Audioscope with Peter Dennis reading and performing all the characters in the stories. I happened across a sampler CD once on eBay while I was searching for Davis items, and thought I'd check it out since no one was bidding on it. It's nice music for clarinet and piano, playful and spirited but just a little sad of tone. The CDs are all out of print now, and I wouldn't suggest hunting them all down for the music unless you also happen to be a big Pooh fan.

That bootleg is worth seeking out though. The two concert works are both phenomenal, and the film/TV music (which is all thrown together on one really long track) is also very good.

So, it's July now. Who's going to start the new thread?

    Kirk

as an antidote to all the recent blah-sounding scores (IMHO), I made the following LP transfer compilation for old timers like myself:

    SWINGIN' 60's:
1-7. "The Oscar" - Percy Faith
    8. "The Virginian" - Percy Faith (not a swingin' tune, I know, but that's another story)
    9-12. "Harlow" - Neil Hefti
    13-18. "Hotel" - Johnny Keating
19-22. "I Spy" - Earle Hagen (I think there may be a CD of this soon, which would be great!)

this is kind of a big-band-leaders-do-Hollywood homage, and I've been having tons 'o fun listening to it.

    Hey Mark!

Speaking of swingin' albums, and while I know this is tad off topic(apologies all), th Si Zentner Warning Shot album would fit in there quite nice Not too sure how the actual score is(aside from the main title), but that album is lots of fun, and the second side places other Goldsmith themes(including Patch of Blue and Patton IIRC) in a big band setting.

    Stay cool daddy-o,
    Sean
