Looks like Varese will be releasing John Ottman's score for Eight Legged Freaks on 7/23/02. Go to Varese site and look in upcoming releases.Jeff

http://www.moviemusic.com/mb/Forum1/HTML/009529.htmlYou don't say!!!

Interestingly enough, Ottman pointed out to me today that while Varese is announcing the ELF score, they didn't mention anything about TRAPPED, which Varese is also releasing.
So... now you've heard it HERE first.
LOL.

I noticed Varese had updated their site to include "Eight Legged Freaks" but knew that it probably had been on here somewhere earlier so I didn't bother to mention it.
However...I didn't know that John Ottman was scoring "Trapped." I saw the trailer and thought it looked like an interesting film. (Although Charlize Theron seems to be the box-office kiss of death lately. Almost as bad as Penelope Cruz.)
What everyone here SHOULD do is go over the the wonderful John Ottman site and take a listen to the very generous sound clips he has on this film. One track runs just over 8 mins!
http://ottman.filmmusic.com/projects/features/24hours/index.htmlThanks for the heads up Dan. By the way...is the track listing, etc. the mock up for the album Varese will be releasing?

Too bad Ottman had to go back to Varese, did he shop it around Dan?--Brian

Sounds okay, though not great. A bit too chaotic perhaps....
Ottman`s best scores are still Incognito (a 5 star score if there ever was one) and Usual Suspects

Damn. I was hoping we'd have the album as presented by the tracks on John's site. I'd provide the link but you do it so much better Dan.James

Here's the page on John's site: http://www.johnottman.com/projects/features/eightleggedfreaks/
And yes, that listing is reflective of the 60-minute version, which will not be released.

And no, that's not the cover either - that's something I put together for the site, and John's small promo to shop around.

I almost wish that all film scores just came out through the composer, via their website or something.Shaun
