After some research, I found out about some new composer projects that you might be interested in:

Klaus Badelt is going to score Roger Donaldson's Thriller "The Recruit", starring Al Pacino.

Thomas Newman has taken the scoring job for the new Pixar movie "Finding Nemo", coming out November 2003.

Randy Newman instead (I expected him to score the Nemo-movie) will score "Dr. Seuss' The Cat in the Hat" starring Mike Myers also coming out late 2003.

And finally: the composer for the new Big Budget Live Action-screen version of "Peter Pan" coming out next year is James Newton Howard.

Those are some interesting choices. A Thomas Newman score for a Pixar film? Will be interesting....
And I`m sure JNH will do a splendid job on that Peter Pan thingy.

Where did you hear that Randy Newman was gonna be scoring THE CAT IN THE HAT? I thought Ron Howard was directing it, which would imply that Horner might be up for the gig....

I got the info from my contact at Disney, who said that Randy isn't going to score Nemo because he's busy with the Cat in the Hat-thing. (Meet the Fockers should come out around November 2003 also, I think)
According to the IMDb by the way, Bo Welch is directing the Cat-movie. As far as I know Howard is directing "The Alamo" which Horner should score.

This is unusual news...especially that a live-action version of "Peter Pan" is getting released.

How much you wanna bet that Randy recommended Thomas for "Finding Nemo" (Thomas has never scored an animated film, y'know)?

There's no freaking way that Thomas Newman can re-use American Beauty in a PIXAR score.......right?
