I'd be really rather pleased if they did.

Hadn't someone said a while back that we'd seen the last of isolated scores? Something about that they weren't financially feasible...Please note - I'm not complaining. In fact I'm still hoping that Lucas looks into these things for his 'silent movies'.

I thought the same thing, about no more iso scores....and yet this week we have STARSHIP TROOPERS, a pretty major coup for collectors.God forbid we start this argument again, but it's good to see them pop up now and again....even Universal "We'll NEVER do an iso score again!" did one for TD's LEGEND(although they cheated and just isolated album tracks, but oh well) again.

As a huuuuuuuuuuuge fan of Scores, I've actually never once listened to any isolated score on any of the discs I own, mostly because I don't understand the point. OK, wrong, I do - i love movie music and I can see the point of watching it in sequence and arranged/played out as intended. But I don't think I could watch too too many movies with just score playing, no dialogue, for 2-whatever hours.I'd much rather be able to USE the dvd as a CD of the entire score - that I could totally see. But I like to listen to music while I do virtually everything, from writing to surfing the net to walking to excercising to doing the dishes, so...I dunno. the ISO score thing just never really has sold me yet as a brilliant thing, but maybe it is. Anyone have thoughts on this? Please share.
I do see the point, obviously, of a composer commentary, tho I've yet to listen to the handful of disks I have that contain one, mostly because I have a hard time watching the same film nine times in a week and some of these new disks are so chock full, there's so much to hear/watch, so...
Is Jerry Goldsmith's any good on HOLLOW MAN? Or can anyone recommend any particularly good composer commentaries floating around out there?
Peace.

I watched the first half of the Starship Trooper DVD with the isolated score running, while studying for my final. I later turn the tv off and just listened to it as background music. Then it becomes just a CD being played.
