Percepto's 2cd set of the scores from The Fly, Return of and Curse of The Fly are just around the corner, anyone have thoughts?
Planning to nab one? I have seen the first film alone, and remember enjoying the score, good orchestral monster music. This set looks to be worth getting for the 56 page info/still jam packed booklet!
Whadda ya think sirs?

Better than Kronos (which I love anyway), not as great as Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, but The Fly has one of the great Main Title cues. I'm going to buy it.

Ready to ship!http://www.moviemusic.com/title.asp?id=flytrilogy
This collection is pretty awesome. I don't know about the liner notes (I don't have them), but the sound of the transfers are fantastic. 100 minutes of chilling music not to be listened to in the dark... for fear of The Claw!!

Didn't want my meeger little thread to die so fast, so I rented the Double Feature DVD of The Fly this week, will check them out this weekend and hopefully have some thoughts on the scores. The disc also came with the trailers for The Fly 1 and 2 remakes, both very different than the orignal films, yet both contain powerful scores by Howard Shore and Chris Young. These two are essential in any film score collection, at least I think so. The Fly 2 is such a bad film, although I keep going back to it for some reason....maybe it's because the score is so different on the album than what's in the film. Maybe someone has some info on this(Dan G???), since I've never read any behind the scenes on Young's score for The Fly 2....but I digress...

Hey gang! Yes, it's true! THE FLY TRILOGY is shipping now and contains all three complete scores on two CDs and a fairly over-the-top 56-page booklet (!) to go along with it. You can find it at our usual digs at www.percepto.com, or through the other fine dealers who carry our stash (like www.moviemusic.com!).As a side note, CREATURE FEATURES in Burbank is helping us kick off this release with a special in-store signing with David Hedison, star of THE FLY (and, of course, the VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA!). It happens this Saturday, June 8th from 1-3pm at 1802 West Olive Avenue. If you're in the L.A. area, please stop by and say hello. Or, if you're out of town and still want a signed CD, call CREATURE FEATURES at (818) 842-9383.
Next up is Vic Mizzy's spooky ooky score for THE NIGHT WALKER with more to come later this year.

Thanks to everyone who attended yesterday's event! Hedison was a great sport for signing so many CDs, photos and SEAVIEW model kits, plus it was fun seeing so many film music luminaries under one roof, like John Morgan, David Schecter, Jeff Bond, Dan Schweiger and Jim D'Arc!Later this week we'll be posting photos from the signing in our EVENTS column at www.percepto.com, so check it out!
