Well, there you have it. A total of 106:26. The music actually heard in the film is a total of 87 min. Maybe my list will help out others of you who are planning on doing the iso score.

106:26? That's a good deal more than my boot has. One more reason to get the DVD.

(Just a pity that it'll never sound as good as the official HDCD)

Yes - the new SE DVD has an isolated score as well as commentary by composer Basil Poledouris.

And as I posted above, the full score on the dvd is 87 min. The additional music to make up the 106 min. is from adding the 3 tracks on the Varese release, and 5 tracks from the boot. Fortunately the boot tracks are good quality.

I've made a bit of a revision. Upon further examination, Klendathu Drop and Destruction Of Roger Young, are not different orchestrations on the Varese release. However, Bugs!! definately is. But there is also an addition of another track from the boot which is Return To Base (extended). This is definately a finshed version. All of the music as heard in the film, plus alts and an extended.

Not having the DVD yet, I wonder: Are the tracks on the official album edited or truncated in any way? Meaning, when making my own disc(s) from the iso score, can I use the tracks from the original CD 1:1 where they appear in the film, or would I have to use either the iso score there or a mix of iso score and official tracks?

These are the only cues that can be used as is on the OST.

    Punishment/Asteroid Grazing
    Hopper Canyon
    Dizzy's Funeral
    Brain Bug
    They Will Win

The rest of the cues have additional music. Example, Klendathu Drop actually begins with 10 seconds of Destruction of Roger Young , then is Klendathu as on the OST. Destruction Of Roger Young has a bit more music in the film at the beginning, but once it reaches the point of the OST, it's the same. Bugs is a completely different orchestration and arrangement. Fed Net Intro has additional music. That's about it I believe. Oh, and Tango Urilla has additional music in the middle section.

    One other note.

The first oh...15-20 sec. of Tango Urilla on the Varese release does not appear in the film. I have this as the 3rd untitled cue on my 2nd cd. So for those of you making your own disc, you could either add this to the beginning of the dvd cue, or separate it as unused music as I did. But remember, the dvd Tango Urilla has quite a bit of additional music, so you can't use the full Varese version. Only the first portion. You'll see when you do it.

Thanks! Looks like this will need the same treatment as the Matrix score (which I still haven't finished). I wonder if you can switch from HDCD to "normal" CD within one track and have the player still recognize the HDCD parts.

    3 Untitled
    13 Untitled
    29 Untitled
    27 Whiskey Outpost Rescue (alternate)
And I forgot to check which track is "Return To Base (extended)

O.K. Thanks to John Takis' cooperation, we have titles for the 4 untitled cues. See my first post for the titles.

Here it is. The complete DVD tracking listing. I think that the timer on my computer DVD player wanders a bit when I use fast speeds to go back and forth. Beware of that and a few inevitable math mistakes.
Also, I modified the titles a bit to illustrate the film continuity better. I hope that the wrap demon does not mess this up too badly.

Wrap is no problemo, but this board squeezes out my spaces, running everything together.

Sorry, I also tried tabs, but I decided to delete my list of times and durations. It looked too chaotic with the board eating my spaces and tabs.

You can use the board's "code" tag ("[" + "code" + "]") to make the board keep the spaces:

    code:
    Example
    of
    the
    code
    tag

Thanks very much for trying to explain, Marian, but the computese in your example is not clear to me.

    Nevertheless, here's a try:

    code:

    01:41:18 09:32 32. Rico's Roughnecks/Abandon Ship/Bug Cavern/Underground Search

Is there any way to make the font larger?
I don't speak HTML or UBB. I'll repost my list since it is an easy fix. I initially feared that I would have to insert some alphabet soup everytime I wanted some spaces.

I'm afraid you can't make the font bigger, at least I don't know how.

It is possible to break up some cues, but they do run together in the movie, and it is not always clear where to break. In other cases, a cue comes to a complete stop, then resumes, and I did separate those.

The source music is not important to the score, so I did not include it in my numbering. Songs? I don't remember any songs.
