    Hi,

This is a question for those who own the first Godfather score. On your copy, is there a slight buzzing in track seven, "Love Theme from the Godfather"?

Is this slight buzzing due to the transfer of the master/analog tapes? I know it has the message on the back of the cd case that states there might be some hissings due to the transfer but I was wondering if the slight buzzing on track seven is also part of the tape transfer. Thank you.

    Best Regards,
    Dylan

PS-I'm asking this just to make sure that my copy of what I consider one of the greatest scores of all time is not defective.

    Hey Dylan,
where exactly is the buzzing? I'm trying to figure out if mine does...I'm not completely sure if it does...how big is the buzzing? Is it like a real big buzzing or is it kinda of like ruffling noises in the background?

    Hi,

Well, the slight buzzing is ever so slight probably unless you have your headphones on...then it can be heard a bit clearer. Umm, it does appear to me that it was just part of the tape transfer, but still, I would like to know if this slight buzzing in track seven is on anyone else's copies. Thanks.

The overall sound quality is quite bleh on mine, so I wouldn't be surprised...

    Hey,
yeah...I think it's just the recording, cuz there's very slight static-type of buzzing in the background.
Look on the positive side...it kinda adds this vintage touch...

I have the original LP and can tell you that that buzzing was present there as well.

This CD is badly in need of some remastering. An expansion wouldn't hurt either.

...and while they're at it, remaster and expand The Godfather Part II as well...

    Hi,

Thanks for the responses. Yeah, I think we can conclude that it was just the recording itself. I agree that the cd is in need of remastering and expansion...the cd is missing a great cue (a very horrorific interpretation of the main waltz when the guy finds a horse's severed head in his bed). Thanks again.
