As most of you already know about the excellent DVD release package Spielberg and his producers are making of E.T. It will most likely be the benchmark of DVD release from henceforth. Plus, I doubt the price will be that much more than other releases.

Remember I had mentioned to you guys about isolating the score to E.T., when during the Winter Olympics I talked to producer, Kathleen Kennedy and her husband, Frank Marshall? They never thought of it until then, and said it's a good idea. When I posted here and other message boards, some doubted they will do that, due to the creators potentially being foolish for taking the E.T. CD market out for having the isolated score. Well, it looks like the doubters are wrong. It just goes to show who are the ones with the success? The opinionated ones, or the ones who are alleged foolish?

Still, not wanting to sound and appear arrogant, but don't everyone thank me all at once for making that suggestion to Kathleen and Frank.

Plus, it goes to prove that "big" power houses does listen to the "little" people. I learned from this, that, you need to hit directly to the source. Otherwise, their assistants and their fan mail openers don't even get close to delivering ideas and requests to their bosses.

Not to rain on your parade SkyMakers, but the idea of an E.T. isolated score isn't anything new - it already happened, back in 1996 on the Collector's Edition Laserdisc Box Set.

This is merely bringing that same (old) feature to the DVD.

Taking credit for that feature is like ME taking credit for the ending to DEEP IMPACT because I argued with Mimi Leder about the lack of any wrap-up, at the test screening.

    Dan,

Good for you that you had influenced her in such a way that the world is now a better place to live.

I hope that you'll do more of it, so we all can live in peace and happiness, forevermore.

Did I mention about how I spoke to Lucas about possibly making Vader someone's dad? Or when I spoke to Bryan Singer (and McQuarrie) after hearing the first draft of Usual Suspects. I told him "Did you just make that up while I was here?".

Well, at least we're getting an isolated score. That means they are smart enough to not listen to a vastly overrated so-called "film music producer" who's always trying to put the kibosh on great things like this!

    Hip Hip Horray!!

My God, Dan, we have YOU to thank for the ending of DEEP IMPACT?

    Dude, what were you THINKING?!?

Next time you chat with Mimi give it some more thought. You can do better than that!

No wonder Mimi hasn't been making movies lately.
