So, does the boot exist?
I must have this as Jones is my favorite composer ever....
as a matter of fact, i reckon i`ve got all of his commercially and uncommercially released scores, par Runaway Train (BTW, how is this?). Definitely need Dinotopia for completeness sake. I do remember somebody selling this on e-bay, with a cover that was very reminiscent of the other CMR release Cleopatra in its lay-out (as well as Gulliver`s Travels, which was an RCA release). So, is this a private release by Jones then, or what?

Hold the freakin' phone. "Reliable source"?? Sure...I heard from a "reliable source" that Goldsmith's score for the new "Star Trek" was going to be replaced by Klaus Badelt. Jeez....

CMR (Trevor Jones' record company) has officially released this cd. It is not a promo or a boot. It may be hard to come by right now, but I imagine Mr. Jones and Company will get it out there very soon.

If they don't get it out there very well, I'll do my best to get copies in the MovieMusic store. I can't believe this is up for over $50 on eBay already. Congrats to Bond1965!

I know how we all have our various "sources", but this is the Internet Age--"reliable source" could be anything. If you heard it firsthand, fine--no need to be all Woodward-and-Bernstein about it.

Ok, Lancelot, you've peeked my interest.
I do mean "pique" (sorry about the voyeur thing... this damned internet). How do you say "I just heard from a very reliable source" without Woodward-and-Bernsteining it?

Well Phillip...seeing as you started this post by saying you had the "reliable source" maybe you should cough up who it was. Because obviously they were WRONG as the CD does exsist. I just sold one on ebay and GNP/CRESCENDO just posted about it's being available but having distribution problems.

Nowadays, I probably couldn't even tell you. How many times have we been introduced to someone new on this board...only to have it confirmed by another personality...only to find out that they're both the same individual? Granted, we're talking about "identity" here, but the point at which we're talking about is the ease at which mistruths are spread. (Hence, my skepticism.)And Philipp--I don't mean to be--in fact, I'm not--calling you a liar--though via the internet, a person can often be used as the spreader of falsehood, in their somewhat zealous attempt to be the much-heralded bearer of tidings, be they good or bad. (Such is the purpose of sites like AICN.)
A "reliable source" in this case could be a coordinator for a label, an album producer, or a friend of a friend who overheard Trevor grumbling "That Dinotopia CD will never be released!" over lunch. The tendency of people to run with little snippets of info lead to things like the Tobey Maguire/Nicole Kidman reports that get stuck on everything from Entertainment Tonight to the IMDB.....

I agree the rumors are worthless, but where would entertainment be without meaningless gossip? Maybe there is a corner of the world for people who want their entertainment without the nearly-inseparable fake glamour that goes with it. A tough bind to be in!Phillip, keep delivering the news you believe in, and if questioned, reveal your informed sources... especially if they were misinformed! We are all interested in who this "reliable" source was so we can write his name down in our book of handicaps. Next time his name comes up, a big "phhhoooooooeey!" or "foooooooooooooooooo"

The source was a friend of mine, who owns a record store in Hamburg, which is specialised in soundtracks. And he is mostly right about his remarks, I might add.

Oh...Hamburg...mystery solved. He wouldn't know about a CD on a rather limited release here in L.A.
By all means...feel free to let him know it exsists and that I've sold one on ebay. (And shall again.)

James, in the other thread you mentioned you got the last copy at a used CD store in west LA. Are you selling dupes, or have you come across the motherlode?By the way, this soundtrack looks like it will be available from MovieMusic in the very near future, so don't be blowin' more than $25 on an auction.

I recieved my copy of this mythical CD today and thought I'd post a tracklisting with times. As for my opinion; I'm only upto track 3 as of typing this. But track 1 the main theme reminds me of James Horner in general, its very lyrical and heavenly music.1. Dinotopia Main Theme 3:27
2. Chandara Bus Station 2:59
3. T-Rex Attacks 6:02
4. The Codes of Dinotopia 4:13
5. Swampland Mosasaurs 3:13
6. Waterfall City 6:14
7. The World Beneath 7:57
8. Pteranodos 5:31
9. Academy For Young Mammals 6:00
10. Letter from Matriarch 7:28
11. The Skyboatbax Dawn Flight 3:42
12. Ceremony Of the Sunstones 4:2261:14
The music is performed by the London Symphony Orchestra.Only complaint so far is that the recording doesn't sound too hot.
