Help-must know who is performing the music in the dance scene with "Connie and Paul" in the loft. Music sounded bluesy but "Paul" says 'it's African'. Is is a real artist? Can't seem to find anything, anywhere...thanks!!!!

I bought the soundtrack hoping this song was on it, and it wasn't. Still a nice soundtrack, but I too want to know about the music he played in the apartment?! Who is it? Where is it?

Maybe we're the only two people in the world to have seen the movie!

I saw this film too and I recall seeing a song performed by Ry Cooder and someone else in the end credits. Forgive me but I don't recall the other person's name. That is most likely the song you are referring to.

By the way...this was a VERY good film. It was nice to see a film where CGI and special effects weren't the dominating force and the story, characters and acting were all top rate.

I should have checked this before posting. Try this site for the track you mention:

That's it!!!! Thank you! Off of half.com to buy an album....*humming, and smiling*
I agree w/comment about the special effects-guess that's why I also enjoyed "In the Bedroom". Gimme a straight up movie anytime--though I have to admit I'll probably head out to see "Clones"-don't want to be the only one at a cocktail party who hasn't seen it! Again, thanks for the response.

Ok are you talking about the song Paul was playing when he served Connie coffee and the one when she was taking a bath at home. I listened to the song excerpts but I'm still unsure of which one it is so can you please tell me the exact name of the song so I too can go get it

    Mika-
I believe that the album is by Ry Cooder w/ Ali Farka Toure. The name of the album is Talking Timbuktu. The CD just came in today and I haven't listened to it but I'm pretty sure that it's the right CD. As soon as I can figure it out, I'll let you know.
