But he DOES look weird without the ponytail. Ok, I haven't actually seen a real-life photo, but Al's cartoon looks pretty convincing.

I've seen the man without his ponytail. It's not at all disconcerning, and I think he looks just fine.

And he didn't sell the ponytail on Ebay?

We could have had enough DNA to clone several Jerry Goldsmiths. Then we could have a real attack of the clones. Goldsmiths vs. Media Ventures!

Beats the heck out of celebrity boxing!

    Yay!

Ponytail-less Jerry is a good thing.

The opinions expressed above are those are held by Jonathan Little. You are free to love his ponytail. Thank you. Have a blessed day.

I think if Jerry dosen't have his pony tail then JW needs to get a wig.

While I do think it is funny, I am afraid I don't get how he knew it was Jerry Goldsmith by what he said.

I have to admit, when I first heard about this, the first thing that came to my mind is the biblical story of Samson. The ponytail was such a big part of his image, it became an icon all its own, and for a few seconds it seemed like he wouldn't be Goldsmith without it.

But then I realized how silly that was. I just looked at that picture on Intrada's A Patch of Blue release... no ponytail there, and that's my favorite Goldsmith score.

Great work Al, by the way.

I've got it! We can make a hairpiece for John Williams out of Jerry's ponytail!

It may make Williams an even better composer, with all of Jerry's creative and psychic energy flowing directly into his scalp from the donated hair (you could call it "The Hairs of Orlac").
