3 days left...Who has tickets booked for Wednesday night?
I am very pleased to say that I do, for the simple reason that it's a first for me. This worldwide release thingy is great. In fact, thanks to timezones, I'll be watching it before you guys in the US

What I'm looking forward to:
My expectations are much lower than they were for TPM. I'm expecting a good 2 hours of fun, but probably the same old cringe-inducing dialogue and wooden acting. I will not be expecting something on par with the classic trilogy.
I have the heard the score a zillion times, and am dying to hear it on screen, especially the final confrontation.
I'm looking forward to some great action scenes and new characters, and the apparently-very-good CGI Yoda doing his stuff.
I am eagerly waiting to go through the plot, becuase firstly it is after all another chapter in the amazing Skywalker family saga, and secondly becuase I have avoided all spoilers and so am ready to be surprised.
And lastly but not leastly, I'm looking forward to the whole experience, becuase after all, this is something you can only enjoy 6 times in your lifetime - watching a new Star Wars Episode

P.S. Please don't answer any of the above points with spoilers...........

A friend of mine has tickets for a midnight screening. I don't - I came too late. I'll probably watch it on Monday (in 8 days); until Saturday, all evening tickets are sold out (and I don't like going to the cinema in the afternoon). Plus I prefer watching films with friends, and they haven't time on Saturday. Finally, Monday is cheaper. (I WILL try to go to a TTT midnight screening in December!
)My expectations are rather high. For one thing, I haven't heard the score yet, and I'm dying to do that. Secondly, it seems this movie will be better than TPM. And while I agree that TPM is a bit stupid, I still found the big story arc (the Palpatine plot) quite fascinating. It's just that after watching it several times, that's not enough, and the "main plot" is too thin on the long run.

I actually won tickets for a sneak showing Wednesday evening, but I gave them to a friend of mine.I still have major doubts about this film, and I will not see it this month.
I will wait until I hear from my friends as to whether it's good or not, before I shell out bucks to perhaps be disappointed. Again.

I didn't download the score from the links you gave me actually. Besides, it was only a couple of days before the score got released, so i decided to be patient for a change.
Besides, my response to Marian's post has sort of history behind it (LOTR movie-remember Marian?!). He knows what i'm talking about! I wasn't trying to be rude.Kyri

The town I live in is so small that the first showing will be Thursady at noon. I'll be there. I'm sure I won't need to reserve tickets. Nothing ever gets sold out in this town....Jz -Who sometimes loves being in a small town!

But I already have the CD. I'm just waiting for the film, then I'll play it over and over again.
I did the same with the film and score that made you a slacker in the first place.

I saw a screening this morning. I was pretty impressed, actually. Whilst it's still not in the same league as the original trilogy (how could it ever be?!), it's a helluva lot better than the flacid Phantom Menace. Attack of the Clones has flaws but overall it's cool.Best thing about it? Yoda. After you see it, you'll know what I mean.

I will see it on Thursday or Friday, depending on if the tickets are sold out today when my friend goes to book them.I was going to wait several weeks until it calmed down (like I was going to do with Phantom Menace, but went in the first week), however one of my friends asked if I wanted to go on Thursday, so I said..."okay".
There's no way on earth I'd go to the midnight screening. I value my sleep a lot more than anything George Lucas produces.
I also have to leave at 8am on Thursday, so...NP: 24 Piano Preludes - Shostakovich

I saw the film last Tuesday (5/7) and was thrilled to have been able to do so via digital projection. I was thoroughly impressed and entertained by the vast improvement Ep. 2 ended up being over Ep. 1. I won't be there at midnight, but I plan on seeing it again as soon as I possibly can. It was a blast!! I haven't been this excited about a Star Wars movie in a long time (after having seen it). I'm sure a lot of people are gonna rip it to shreads... just keep in mind that they are of the same kind as those who measure all incarnations of Star Trek against TOS. Grow up and just enjoy yourselves... life is much too short to criticize things like the next Star Wars flick. As I say with Enterprise, take it for what it is, enjoy what it has to offer, and walk out with a smile on your face. If you can't do that, go see a counselor...Having said all that, I can't wait for the DVD. Yoda kicks booty!!!

Good call Jeron--a level headed response about Star Wars is a welcome one these days. As for me...apparently a coworker and I have a long meeting scheduled on Thursday. I hope my company actually buys that!

I value my sleep. I have to get up at 6 am on Thursday morning. I got tickets for the midnight showing. It's Star Wars. Without Star Wars and especially John Williams and his music I would not even be here.My soon to be married nephew and I will be seeing the movie in digital projection the following week.
I am excited, because like Camilu, I don't know much at all about the plot except that Yoda kicks butt because you loud mouths (can't keep my mouth shut) people have announced to a degree even the dead from 10 000 years ago are aware of it.

NP:Alien3 wanna see how stupid I am? I have had this score for like forever. Hardly listened to it. Did not much like it. Now? I love it. I'm really stupid sometimes...no Jeron...you cannot.

Well the theatre here has already sold all the tickets they had allocated for Thurs and Friday so I got tickets for Sat. night. The only bad thing is not being able to see it in digital. But we have Stadium seating and Digital sound so 2 outta 3 ain't bad.

I'm going with some friends to the 12:01 showing at the Cinerama in Seattle (the theater were those two freaks -- ahem, geeks -- camped out for five months (I did meet them, however, and they're surprisingly normal
)... I camped out monday night with a friend for good seats (we're in the first 50 -- yay), and he's still there; poor bastard. Not quite sure why I'm going to the trouble, as I'm not really anticipating the film all that much. Still hope it's fun, though.

My levelheaded response...It's even lesser than 24 hours away.
I don't have any tickets.
I'm sitting at home, ready to watch Buffy.
But I'm all psyched to see..Spiderman again tomorrow.
I'd rather see that again than AOTC anytime.

It was good episode (of Buffy). I think the season is ending a little too quickly (with a GIGANTIC loose end that I'm assuming isn't going to be tied up), but next week's should be a blast.Still looking forward to AOTC.

I got my ticket last Thursday. Now the next question is:Is anyone gonna dress up as Darth Vader or a Storm/Clone Trooper (or any Star Wars character!)?
Enjoy the movie guys.

I just got an assignment to write an article about reaction to Star Wars here in Albuquerque. I'm going to the one midnight screening here and talk to some of the people there. For sake of the article, I hope there will be people there dressed up as characters form the movie. It helps with the article. Then I'm going to the 9:30 a.m. showing to use up the nonrefundable ticket I bought a week ago.
But as much of a loyal SW fan that I am, I'm NOT going to dress up. It's fun to see these people as characters. As long as they don't start mock-fighting with lightsabers every time they do in the movie. They did that with the 1997 rereleases and it drove me nuts! After all, it was my first memory of seeing the films on the big screen and these guys were ruining it for me.
But then I thought, this is probably what Rocky Horror is like. The audience participation is part of the experience.
