The additional music was written using Zimmer's themes.... it wasn't just "remixing" his material - it was like Ken Thorne in SUPERMAN II and III, or Don Davis with JP3.... Original music, with Zimmer's themes.

I listened to the four score tracks yesterday...very enjoyable!

Everyone has a right to their own opinion, but I think (1) some folks should actually listen to the score before interjecting and (2) try and see past their obvious bias and distaste for a composer before formulating their opinion.

I'm guessing that's too much to ask though.

    I agree with Quill
I know andre has been doing that for years, but isn`t it getting a bit old now?
It`s fine by me if you don`t like Zimmer, but do you have to use the same responses every single time something is posted about him?
Well, I`m sure he`s going to reply with something to the effect of: "Yes, I do"

I'm sure Andre wouldn't be so "dumb" as to not take you up on it

I heard this score. It's so slight and sleepily unconvincing as base drama you wonder what the fuss is all about since Zimmer scores are always the same. It's like people have evolved to the point that sounds that stand for some barely-remembered vague mood have become primary source material.

    Standard Zimmer.

    Standard Adams.

    Standard album.

Go get The Prince of Egypt or Tarzan first.

Just got this and am very impressed. It may be `standard` Zimmer, but I really can`t see nothing wrong with that. The highlight of the album for me is the ethnic flute bits at the beginning of track 13, reminiscent of his great score for Beyond Rangoon.
I`ve tried to listen to the songs and am not too impressed. I have never liked Adams and can`t say that this would change that. Though, the melodies by Zimmer, Jablonsky etc. do make them bearable.

And as for the comment about all Zimmer scores being the same: Days of Thunder and The Thin Red Line sure are identical!
