    Hi,

I am sure Dan will tell me if this has already been posted but I see Film Score Monthly has posted their latest releases.

    36 Hours by Dimitri Tiomkin

    and

The Traveling Executioner by Jerry Goldsmith.

    Enjoy!

    James

Well, that officially makes the "bootleg" Stripper/Executioner disc a total piece of crap.

Still, I can't say I'm overly excited about either of these releases.

Well, that was the Tiomkin guess. And since I love the 36 Hours score, it sounds good to me.

Check out the clip of the second track from Traveling Executioner.

    Sounds so darn purty!

Well, <expletive>... I guess FSM ought to just scrap these albums and move onto something that WOULD excite you. Here's an idea. Why don't you stop paying tuition and use that money to put out some albums yourself?

Uhh, Mike. "You are miss the point." Either that or someone's gonna mention the whine police are still in hot pursuit of the kid from Maine. Sigh. Put him in jail already - I am tired of the sirens!

It is possible... that I was a little harsh. I apologize for that.

I can't say that i'm excited about these releases but the Tiomkin cd is a good addition to the composer's discography.
36 HOURS is a nice score and i believe that it is a must for a Tiomkin fan and generally for a person who is interested in the good old golden age scores.
Because i repeat...36 HOURS IS good.
As for the Goldsmith selection i would prefer THE SAND PEBBLES instead...pitty.

36 Hours, is that this great thriller with Rod Taylor, in which the Nazi´s hold a us officer and tell him the war is over for six years, so that they get his information about D-Day?

    that movie is really great!

Sand Pebbles is a great score.

    really would be worth having.

I have the LP re-record and the Varese re-recording.

can't wait to get my hands on this Tiomkin....as soon as I get the money!

While I'm not excited, I surely hope that nobody else becomes less excited because of my lack of excitement.

How about Explorers? I got an expanded version, but this is a good score and deserves a complete release.

Explorers is unlikely. It's a Paramount film which was originally released on LP from MCA (as I recall) and Varese reissued it on CD.

I'd much rather have something that has never had any kind of release than something that has.

As for 36 Hours and Traveling Executioner, I'm not in a rush to buy them. This doesn't mean I don't think they are worth releasing or having.

Well you're not going to see FSM release anything past 1979 for probably many years to come, that's why it's called the Golden and Silver Age. Plus at this moment they are going thru the MGM vault.

Something that has never seen a release? Okay... how about Billy Goldenberg's DUEL.
