In what other movie have i heard the theme to Rain Main? Maybe as a trailer for something? Same flute melody, without the synthesizer. It's been driving me crazy for months!

All very intersting, but I'm still loking for the right answer. Not Road to El Dorado, I don't think. Not an animated movie, more like a drama set in S. America.

Dude, the guy was just asking a question that requires an actual answer, not your freaking opinion. If you have nothing good to contribute beside your stupida$$ answer then don't answer. [/B]

This is precisely why I don't post here very often... There is so much hostility to anyone who dares to express an opinion, that differs from the populace. I know from what I have read that the golden age composers like Alfred Newman, Max Steiner and Dimitri Tiomkin are pretty much forgotten around here in favour of the noise that composers, and I use the term loosely, put to film these days. Musical retards like Zimmer, Trevor Rabin, Harry Gregson-Williams and Marco Beltrami aren't fit to lick the sweat off of Jerry Goldsmith's baton. And the only mention of John Williams around this holy shrine to musical redundancy, is to bitch and moan about the CD from AOTC and the UE from Phantom Menace... So here's what I think of your response to MY "buttwipe trash" You bore me, little boy. And obviously you are some pimple faced techno-geek, who's pubic hairs haven't even grown in yet, while you sit in front of your computer masturbating over downloaded pictures of Jeri Ryan. If it were not true, you would have found a more intelligent way to respond to my "buttwipe trash". If you had half the brain that your trailer trash parents bestowed on you at birth, you would have offered an argument to my, intentionally, confrontational statement. If that's too difficult for you to understand young fella, let me 'dumb it down' for you. I had hoped to start an argument about the merit (or lack thereof IMO) of Hans Zimmer's music.
Perhaps, this was not the right place to do this and I should have started a topic of my own, and to the original poster alone, I apologize. But seeing as Dan had already answered his question, I thought it would be okay... and if I was offensive, I apologize for that also. But I was under the impression that I was on a message board where we are supposed to post opinions and discuss them. How foolish of me to forget that I might offend and upset someone. Shame on me... Yes, shame on me, indeed!

Hey, your comment was obviously out of line. Like I said, he was not asking for your opinion. If this was a post about the merit of Hans Zimmer or Trevor Rabin or (the Holy Lord
Jerry Goldsmith) then your comment might have some valid context. My response to your "technoise" comment/opinion/whatever it might be, is to give up another inane comment about the quality of your previous statement. I'm sorry if it offended you. It's my opinion too right
Don't I have the right to post my opinion also??? I didn't put you down. I indirectly criticized your comment in the same manner it was offered. No need to get offended about it. Don't get personal, you whitetrash (BIG WINK!!!!)
You don't know me so don't even try, little boy(!). But then you might just be projecting a little of your self onto me eh??? Bah, why don't you try to grow up first then try to talk normally without resorting to insults, like a 6th grader.
My opinion in response to your opinion.

First of all, you don't call people Retards. Second, you don't call some of my favorite composers retards. I think you should use a better choice of words next time you say **** here on the boards. And if he bores you, you made a huge response for a bored person. This obviously is upsetting you. Next time you should keep your mouth shut.Clayton

If it were not true, you would have found a more intelligent way to respond to my "buttwipe trash".If we want to discuss intelligent responses, we can begin with answering the original question (In what other movie [has herstejo] heard the theme to Rain Main?), rather than debating the merits of what any one individual holds to be "music", (which is unlikely to resolve itself here or any other message board.)

If you had half the brain that your trailer trash parents bestowed on you at birth, you would have offered an argument to my, intentionally, confrontational statement.1. More hostility.
2. Who says hostility has to be met with hostility?
3. "That's not music!" "Yes it is!" "No it's not!" "Yes it is!" Confrontational enough?quote:

Yes, shame on me, indeed! From the responses here, it looks like you were the more offended than offending party, which really makes this protest seem...unwarranted? Your aim was made clear, though, and you basically wanted to pick a fight, so don't try to revert this into some defensive "oh-this-board-is-too-sensitive" statement.
No offense intended here...just a humble analysis.

I need to explain an embarrassing situation. First of all, let me say that I am the real Big Ken. I am not the only person with access to this terminal at work and, sadly, one of my associates has my password. He thinks it's funny to go to some of the message boards I frequent, wreaking havoc under my name.I apologize for his insults and (frankly) inane comments. I am never confrontational. I may not agree with an opinion and will argue it till my fingers are sore from typing, but I will NEVER resort to insults to emphasize my point. I realize this sounds like the plot to a really bad afternoon soap, but I am reminded of the quote "truth is stranger than fiction".
A few ways to tell us apart, I will never high-jack a topic, as has been done here. He never uses smilies, I frequently do like
and
to show my embarrassment at this situation. Also, I will always try to avoid insults, no matter how vehemently I disagree with someone. I will argue till my fingers are sore from typing, but I won't resort to name calling.I hope that you will ignore my doppelganger and find it in your hearts to listen if the real me posts...
I apologize to herstejo, HadrianD, and thank Lancelot and Kyriacos S for their olive branch...Big Ken: who is really Big Ken

ps: I have gone back and deleted the offending posts... I hope that HadrianD and Lancelot, who quoted the other guy, will do the same... Thanks, K.

Though I did distinguish what I was responding to by quote-command, I did not distinguish from whom it was quoted, so, with respects to the Real Ken Little, I will leave my post undeleted, as it does merit a legitimate response to an argument. For those reading this complete post, I am certain that they will distinguish the identities here.

The answer he's looking for - I think - me buckos is the Redford starrer HAVANA. I even remember the narration in the trailer "In a place..." All great movies/trailers with "In a world" or "In a place" in their beginning rule! J/k.P.S. Please don't tell me this is the kind of forum that devolves into petty bickering by the 5th or 6th post. Why does this happen on EVERY forum I go to, regardless of type...sigh. Anyhoo...peace out.

P.S. I'm pretty sure the version used is a John Beal alternate not the actual RAIN MAN cue - I was listening to his COMING ATTRACTIONS album the other nite and I believe the Rain Man/HAVANA cut is on it. So, there's ya go.
