What a piece ! I just heard it for the first time in this variation, and it is just great. Orchestra, mixed with some swinging tunes, perfectly played by the Philharmonic Orchestra.Philipp

Actually, I thought that was one of the worst tracks on the disc.... GREMLINS just isn't GREMLINS without the synth.Dan

I agree with Dan. As good as the concert arrangement of GREMLINS was, it didn't come close to the original minus the synths. The same can be said about Jerry's arrangement for HOOSIERS which was performed live during the '87 concert without the electronics. As good as the performance was, it just didn't quite work without the synths and electronic drums.
Jerry wasn't pleased with the performance hence the absence of it on the concert C.D.Dean.

Aw don't let these guys pee on your parade, Phillip. The rendition is not the same as the original with the synths but it's fun just the same.

oh, it's fun certainly, but it has this cheesy "Cincinnati Pops" feeling to it...Dan

There's nothing wrong with Cincinnati Pops!

The Gremlins version is just dandy and performed with gusto. Probably would have been very hard to reproduce those synths for a concert album.
Unclench already.
Incidentally the best tracks on the disc are from The Blue Max (and Lionheart).

And the synth version is completely cheese-free, right?

I'm looking forward to hearing Blue Max with decent sound quality.

I feel that the Legacy disc of The Blue Max has as sound quality that is as good as possible with the tapes that were available. The sound quality is just not that good.

The sound quality on the new Silva Goldsmith remastered in HDCD in simple spectacular as hell. The Blue Max suite sounds a million times better than the original soundtrack and the performance is much more passionate and heroic sounding. If you have a good sound system with a cd player that can decode a HDCD then you will be blown away. And play this back in Dolby Pro Logic and it is even better!
