Only details are the ones I got from Sony ina reply to an email I sent them.
To the question "has the score been cancelled?" the reply was:

    quote:

Unfortunately, Sony Classical's release HAS been canceled. However, there
is a soundtrack on Columbia records featuring pop/rock artists. Thank you,
    though, for your interest.

Maybe Super Tracks will option it, they did Smith's "Attila"

Bladeisback, if you like Smith's work you should check out "The Man in the Iron Mask" and "The Rock." "Attila" is good, but "rips off" "Gladiator" still a great score.

Legend must have confused Nick Glennie-Smith with Nino Rota...

Well, I have a problem when you use lingo incorrectly...

When you're ready to use words properly, you have my number.

That should be "LEGACY", not Legend.

Legend: italian label concentrating on Italian soundtracks, primarily by Nascimbene, Rota and Morricone.

Legacy: a unit of Sony Music Entertainment, Inc. http://www.legacyrecordings.com

Interesting though, the Legacy and Sony Music websites list the album under Nick Glennie-Smith's name as the main artist, instead of something like "Original Score Album: We Were Soldiers" http://legacyrecordings.com/newreleases/
