    Hi Fellas,

what was the longest time you searched for a certain score cd? Well, I guess my longest search was for TOY SOLDIERS by Robert Folk, which I searched for from 97 to 01. I had to get this great action score, well, I finally did. And ALIEN, I looked for that one pretty long too, until I found it a couple of months ago.

took me a while to get my hand on Hans Zimmer's Peacemaker, and Harry Gregson-Williams' Armageddon 2 years ago when it first appeared on the market. Great buy I'd tell ya.

I hunted high and low for The Howling on LP...saw the film in '84, wanted it right away, didn't find one until '90.
Currently the bane of my existance is finding an original Runaway(Goldsmith)...found the tape at the same time as finding The Howling, ironically enough, and held one in my hand in '85(before I knew what the hell a cd was!), but haven't seen one since....and I don't have a $100 to drop on it when it shows up on ebay

I've been searching for Richard Band's Dragonworld and Prehysteria for about two years and still haven't found conclusive proof that they ever even existed.

Both films say "Soundtrack available on Moonstone Records" at the end of the credits, and Prehysteria also lists it on the video box (not sure about Dragonworld). There's also a picture of Prehysteria's cover in another Moonstone CD insert. But I have never found a listing for either CD anywhere at anytime.

Has anyone ever caught a glimpse of these elusive scores?

Return to Oz by David Shire... I spent about 5-6 years looking for it. Finally got it NEW off e-bay - for like 18 bucks! A most excellent way to win.

Seriously though it took me a really long time to get Jurassic Park and Schindler's List. I just now picked them up.

Raiders of the Lost once I get it will be my most sought after CD. I must have this score. It's becoming more and more diffucult to find and I'm getting desprete. I will have it by June though.

The soundtrack search engine at Filmscoremonthly does not show these titles. Neither does soundtrackcollector.com. So it looks like you're right about them not existing.

Due to"McNally's Price Guide for Collectible Soundtrack Records" the value of this LP (RCA Victor LOC-1013) is $ 7000. It should be one of the rares soundtrack LPs. The book says also, that only about 25 copies may exist.
    I wish you good luck.
    Best regards

Since I saw the movie "No Way Out" for the first time I was crazy about Maurice Jarre's music. But it wasn't available in any store in Denmark. At last I did find a brazilian LP version of it on SPK records in a second-hand store. It had some scratches so I was really happy the day I finally got the CD from a trader in Canada.
About 6 months after I got this CD I found another CD copy in a second hand store for just $ 4. But I bought this extra copy too and traded it away for Dreamscape.

There was supposed to be a release of the Caine Mutiny soundtrack on CD in March. No news so far.

I spent three years searching for the score to Cutthroat Island. Could never find it, and everyone i asked said it was not available, that is, until i stumbled across it randomly one day in the Tower Records in Philadelphia. Also, i originally heard Goldsmith's theme for Rudy in a commercial, and having never seen the movie at the time, did not discover what it was from until i caught the movie on tv a few years later.

I've been looking for the soundtrack to CARAVANS by Mike Batt since I was about 14 or 15 years old.

I finally located one last year, shortly before my 34th birthday.

It is true that persistence pays off.

hmmmmm, mine would have to be Burwell's The Jackal, and Kamen's Die Hard. Wanted those the second I saw the films as a kid, just didnt know where to look to find them. I looked for those for two years. Also, I looked and looked ever since i was about 12 for the scores to the Bond films A View to a Kill, Octopussy, The Living Daylights and For your eyes only. Finally found all of those bond scores except for FYEO at age 17 on LP, the Ryko was nice enough to release them. I'm still searching for the James Bond Theme used in the Goldenye trailer composed by Jeff Fair and Starr Parodi, which i doubt MGM will ever release. Ive been searching since '95 and will continue to search and wait.

John Du Prez's score to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles...

I still remember the day I got it, and it brings a tear to my eye every time...

Of course, I never got it, and probably never will, and as a result will remain a depressed individual for the rest of my life.

There were loooong waits for the following as it was several years after seeing these movies that I was able to find the soundtracks (on vinyl at the time):
    "633 Squadron"
    "Zulu"

I had the William Walton album with "Henry V," "Richard III" and "Hamlet" on it stolen and I've never been able to find the same set anywhere. I did manage a few years ago to replace all the music by buying two different CDs.

The longest wait was for "Warlord," possibly three decades here between the time I saw the movie on TV as a teenager and found the CD a few years ago. Another decades-long wait was for "Taras Bulba," which I picked up only just this last year.

Technically, I'm still waiting for "The Vikings," although Silva's "Warriors of the Silver Screen" has provided some very satisfactory cuts. Another decades-long wait was for "Taras Bulba," which I picked up only just this last year.

I somehow missed "55 Days at Peking" when it came out. I had a bad five years not too long ago which affected my buying options. So I'm still waiting for this one.

And I'm STILL waiting for "Mystery, Alaska."
(I'll bet you guys thought I'd given up on that one!)

The Witches of Eastwick, I had a CDR a friend made for me but finally a few months ago I found a near mint copy in a used bin for $4.99. I would say it was a 14 year search for a copy.

I'm still looking for original copies of:

Poltergeist II Goldsmith - Expanded version
    The Accidental Tourist Williams
    Spacecamp Williams
    Dragonslayer North
    The Burbs Goldsmith

Now there are numerous scores that have not seen an official CD release that I'm waiting for:

    Black Sunday Williams
    Monsignor Williams
    Predator Silvestri
    The Sugarland Express Williams
    Family Plot Williams
    Images Williams
    The Swarm Goldsmith

Then there are those that were released but not complete because they either had songs or very short albums. I would like a full release of:

    Innerspace Goldsmith
    Gremlins Goldsmith
    Spartacus North
    El Cid Rosza
    Boys From Brazil Goldsmith
It's a Mad. Mad, Mad World Gould
Current Album is re-recording using a much smaller orchestra.
The 7th Voyage of Sinbad Herrmann
    Would like complete original tracks.
    Obsession Herrmann
