Hi, all. I am trying to compile an album of "rain" songs. Here are some I like so far: Listen to the Rhythm of the Pouring Rain (who sings this?), Rain-Madonna, Rainy Night in Georgia-Brooke Benton (does anyone have this song? I can't find it), Thunder Rolls-Garth Brooks, Lightning Does the Work-Chad Brock, Rain, Rain-Cher, Singin' in the Rain. What are your favorites? Any suggestions? Thanks

"I Love A Rainy Night" - Eddie Rabbit
"I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues" - Elton John
"We Fly So Close" - Phil Collins (Really--check this one out.)
    "Stormy Monday" - B.B. King
    "Red Rain" - Peter Gabriel
"Heavy Cloud, No Rain" - Sting
"Desert Rose" - Sting (refrain: "I dream of rain...")
    "Stormfront" - Billy Joel

I can't seriously recommend it, but Milli Vanilli did "Blame it on the Rain"...

    But also recommended:
"Forever" - Queen (instrumental on "A Kind of Magic" album)
    "The Brazillian" - Genesis (instrumental)
"Enjoy the Silence" - Depeche Mode
"Brother in Arms" - (Originally performed by Dire Straits, but there is a Chant version of this that works very well.)
    "Children" - Robert Miles
    "Stormlight" - David Arkenstone (instrumental)

HOw 'bout "Sure Am Glad It's Raining", the song Ernest sings on "Ernest Goes to Camp"? I like that song, I wonder also if there ever was a soundtrack to the movie? Or even if that song is available anywhere...

Have you ever seen the rain?
    I love a rainy night.
    Who'll stop the rain.

PS. Sheila, don't you wish you were in Texas right now? I sure do.

Oh yes how I wish I were in Texas. I was going to watch the NASCAR race yesterday, and they kept complaining about the weather. I told them to send it here, and I would give them ours. Oh, well, at least the race is on now. Go Rudd!!
And on the Phil Collins song, I just ordered the CD, so I will get that one.
    Thanks all!

I was going to suggest that one.. The original Motown version instead, though.

Lena Horne's "Stormy Weather." And there's a track on Janet Jackson's album "Janet" that is just rain falling.
