Howdy Ya'll!I have an oscar promo to Mulan which is 36 tracks long and clocks at 76:37. Nothing bad about that but I went over to filmtracks.com to get some tracks for it and over there is says it's 35 tracks long and is only 70:14 long.
What's the diffrence? What's the extra track?
Help me out here!! Thanks
Jz

Does yours have the main title music? Mine doesn't. Also, I believe there's an album out there with an alternate version of Short Hair.

...my version has 2 alternates of "Short Hair"...well it originally had 3 but one was only a shortened version of alternate #1....and it has the "Main Title" plus a 6 or 7 min suite at the end...

There are two promos.... one with the score and songs, and another one with just score - including alternate takes of a few of the tracks.Dan

I was lucky enough to get that boot Mulan. It's pretty good. It has more music than the Oscar promo. Of particular interest is the end credits that were unused in the film. Does anyone know how the boot Mulan was made?

Anyone know how this fan of the score and songs could get his hands on that promo?

Well, there are actually more than two versions of this, something that started happening with a number of Goldsmith scores in the mid/late 90s with titles like this one, First Knight, Executive Decision, Air Force One, Small Soldiers, ad nauseam. If I can shed some more light on the multiple versions of Mulan:-The Disney commercial release (has a SUITE FROM MULAN that isn't on any other version, about 6-7 minutes or so), which contains the least score of all the CDs, plus songs. Maybe this suite is what is tacked onto the end of your CD.
-The Disney promo (about 52 minutes of score, plus songs)
-Another version that was passed around on CD-R with JUST score containing a number of alternate cues not on either of the preceding two, but missing other cues. That additional music totalled about another 20 minutes, while the entire disc was around 65 minutes or so (Shaun Rutherford or John F may remember the exact details since I got it from John while Shaun helped me put it into sequence and made up titles for some tracks). I forget how many tracks this had since I no longer have it.
-A pressed bootleg on "Emperor Entertainment" with 36 tracks and a running time of 78:09 which, to me, gives the best listen.
Some saga, eh?

And I think mine isn't any of these but an edited version based on the boot and the official album or something like that:5 songs
29 tracks of score (no suite)
1 song (end credits)NP: Beethoven: Symphony #8 (Berlin Philharmonic, Karajan)

Heh heh. I just figured out what my version is.
My version contains everything as on the promo at filmtracks however it has a bonus track of the Mulan Suite as the very end.
