Does a promo exist WITH OUT the dialogue? I am talking about the score from the 1996 film. It get's annoying listening to the awesome music and hearing the dialogue in it. Someone told me that it does exist, anyone know anything?Clayton

There are a couple good cues... but on the whole, it's nothing to write home about.

Craig Armstrong's score is something I'd like to hear apart from the dialogue. If anyone has a copy, you have to be generous and SHARE THE WEALTH.

The opening ten minutes contain some cracking tunes. The rest is laregely lush romantic cues, which are also great.

I remember liking the score in the film, although I had the same problem with this ill-produced album everyone else did.I didn't much care for the film itself, though. Too many histrionics. I much prefer Luhrmann's Strictly Ballroom.
...oh yes, I almost forgot to mention... is it me, or is John Leguizamo the only actor in this film that seems to understand the lines he's saying?

Personally, I thought the score as it is on the Volume 2 CD was pretty good. However, it might have been a better listen if it did not have such Shakespeare theatrics!
On a related topic...
How much did music Craig Armstrong compose for the film in comparison to what was composed by Nelle Hooper?

Most of the orchestral / choral score on the album sounds very Armstrongesque, so I must assume that it is indeed his music. Don`t know about that Morricone homage though.

I could be wrong though!

Craig Armstrong scores all shares a distinctive sound to them. Listen to his current work now and compare them to the R&J work and if, at any moment, you think to yourself, "that sounds like craig" then it is Craig

Oh well, just thought I should ask since many call it an Armstrong score, though, it's Hooper who is getting the main credit. What can I say, this has always confused me!
