Williams must have been reading my mind with my a dilemma in "inventing" a name for the "Love Music" volume in my very own John Williams Magic Collection -
Vol 1. OVER THE MOON
Vol 3. AMONG THE CLOUDS
- so next totally logical title is ACROSS THE STARS...
Thank You, Mr. Williams for remembering "continuity" ! (Now, if only the music would be as enchanting as "Anakin's Theme"...)
KENPS. Dan - how does MR sound ?? I'd truly like to know !!

So to add further to my thoughts, the 12 tracks is rather upsetting. I'm dying to hear the music of course, all the new themes, but I am fearing coming out of the cinema on the 16th and remarking about all the cues and themes not on this intial release.
I'm hoping, as I say, the tracks here are of good length and are not a mish mash of music from the wrong scene trying to sneak by in another cue (see the original TPM CDs 'Main Title & Arrival at Naboo' for that)...Dan

Don't borrow trouble. Almost all of John Williams score released lately have been 70 minutes plus.I am sure that we will get a generous portion of the score just as I am sure that the bitching about missing cues will begin with the first showing.

Oh I wont be bitching as such, it's just a shame regardless. I still love the original TPM CD for a number of reasons, there isn't a chance in hell I will completely resent the intial Clones CD release. I just love my Star Wars music...

I agree with Dan B. I'd love to have a "Special Edition" treatment for the TPM score someday, but I really enjoy the flow of the first album, and I find I listen to it far more often than the so-called Ultimate Edition. The main reason to release a complete TPM score is to hear the original version of the battle music at the end of the film, and since the UE simply pulled badly cut music stems off the DVD master, it holds little appeal for me.
Plus it really annoys me that Lucasfilm would endorse and profit by such a shoddy treatment of Williams' score.
I can't wait for AOTC...the album.

You know the one cue I nearly cried over not having from Phantom Menace on the initial album release? The 'Racer Roars to Life' cue... Good God I love that theme... When I bought the "Ultimate" Edition I did not pass go and went straight to that track.

Yeah that's a great one. Also Anakin's farewell to his mother. I wish the UE had been better produced, but there are some real Star Wars gems in there. You know, I think this Johnny Williams guy has a future in sci-fi movies...

Indeed, that farewell cue is also wonderful. I remember hearing it for the first time in one of the TV spots prior to the movie's release. The Force theme is up there as probably my all time fave movie score theme ever, and the lack of presence of the theme on the initial release upset me.The UE certainly filled some holes, but I have the 2 CD Empire Strikes Back CD spinning right now as I type this. That release is damn near perfection.

I only hope that the score to Episode 2, with all the similarities (structurally) that have been made to TESB, lives up to the same level of perfection.
In his "sneak peek", Harry Knowles mentioned Williams' score a few time, even going so far as to say that "Williams DUEL OF THE FATES was nothing in comparison to this" when talking about the fight scenes.... so I'm eager to find out! April can't come soon enough.....

Y' know Dan, I hope Harry's right but I have a hard time trusting his opinion because he gushes over EVERYTHING. If ever anybody fits F.A.Thaxtons definition of a Fanboy, Harry Knowles is it. (Still, I am sure that many would love to be in his shoes.)Still and all I hope hes right. I enjoyed Phantom Menace but to get another Star Wars score as good as TESB would be a gift indeed.

All I know is that Lucasfilm can cound on my 15.99 at the end of April.Williams' music represents for me everything that STAR WARS tries to be (and sometimes is).

I'll do my usual wait until I hear the music in the film to buy the CD...whether or not they use spoilers as track titles, I think listening to the music beforehand is sometimes a spoiler.
I mean, think about it. If you closed your eyes while you opened the first TPM CD (to avoid seeing the track titles) and put it into your player, then heard the Emperor's theme in track 14, then you wouldn't have that surprise/intrigue about the whole Palpatine/Sidious plot.
So, Lucasfilm and Sony wil have to wait another four weeks for my dough, though I don't think they'll be twiddling their thumbs waiting for me.

Jeffy, I understand your position, but for me, it doesn't really matter. For years now I have been listening to scores outside the context of the film, and then find when I go into the movie, it takes on new (and usually better) context.I didn't think the Emperor's theme in TPM affected my viewing of the film for the first time, nor do I think any theme that shows up in Episode 2 will affect how I see the film either.... it's nice to go into a movie "fresh", certainly, but when the score is just too "anticipated", you'd be hard pressed to keep me from listening to it as soon as possible!

Heck, I was THRILLED when the Emperor's theme came up when I first heard the TPM score on CD. If reports that Williams hints even more toward the Imperial March in AOTC are true, I'll feel much the same way (like a child at Christmas basically).

In many cases too, hearing the score beforehand alowing myself to picture what may be going on up on the screen as a specific cue plays out, only makes my want to see that specific film even stronger.
