    All of 'em.....

Haven't heard a bad score by the man yet, and probably never will...although the composer was apparently not to happy with his synth work on the tv film ROSWELL.

    Hey Phillip,

I've only heard a handful of Goldenthal scores, but my favorites are probably in this order:

    1. Michael Collins
    2. Final Fantasy, The Spirits Within
    3. Cobb

Keep in mind I haven't heard Titus, Interview With the Vampire, and a few others...

Alien 3 is too much a mix of absolutely stunning bits and unlistenable brass pounding, and Sphere likewise (though not as unbearable at parts). I actually enjoy Batman Forever for what it is, however, and find Demolition Man to be a dud for the most part.

Oh, there's toooo many! In fact, there's only 1-3 Goldenthal scores that I don't love to death. (Pet Semetary, A Time to Kill, and Drugstore Cowboy- although I respect its ingenuity) My favorite Goldenthal score will always be Alien 3, though- one of the greatest film scores ever written- every second is pure brilliance. I love it so much that I don't even hear what lots of people scream is so "unlistenable" about it. The whole thing sounds as tonal as a Beethoven symphony to my ears.

    Well,
Well I think Titus and Final Fantasy are really interesting.
The man's worst score is Heat!

Every single bit this genious composer has written.
My top favorite would be Alien3. I don't know, but there is something really amazing in that score that makes me LOVE it so
much. It never ever gets boring.
When you understand why Goldenthal puts certain elements in Alien3, e.g.not many like the way he uses the brass section of the orchestra, but if you pay close attention to the music and its relation to the film, you will see that even that "awful noise" of those shrilling trumpets has a special meaning attached to it (i always imagine people suffering when i listen to those shrills)-i don't know whether i'm getting too sentimental here, but i always try to get inside Elliot Goldenthal's works-how he feels in certain scenes and the reasons behind the use of instruments in different ways. That's the reason why i listen to Goldenthal scores every day:Because there are soooooo many things you can discover while listening to his music. The feelings are not ready for you to feel. YOU are the one who has to create those sentiments.

    1. Sphere
    2. Final Fantasy
    3. All the others I have

Though I still haven't heard Titus, Cobb or Fire, Water, Paper. Alien³ is probably the best in the movie, but on CD I prefer the others.

Just spent all my money on other scores. I was trying to get Fire, Water, Paper, but it's out of print and Peter couldn't get a copy.

    NP: Nothing either.

Interview With the Vampire is one of my favorite movies ever, with no small part due to Goldenthal's music. The same goes for Batman Forever, which could have been a dud if the music wsn't as fun as the over-the-top acting.

Final Fantasy is good on CD, but not that great in the film. All his others scores are decent efforts, but don't have the gothic feel I love about his music (Alien 3 is a little too overbearing in parts).
