"THE ANTHONY ASQUITH AWARD for achievement in Film Music"Achievement in film music... If it said "film score," then Moulin Rouge shouldn't even have been considered. But... last I checked, Moulin Rouge is quite the presentation of film music. Obviously it's a "totally love it or totally hate it" film, and I love it.

If that were the case, Mr. Little, then why would they give the award to Craig Armstrong only? Surely if they had to give the award to just one person for all the music in that film, it would be Marius De Vries. No, this award technically goes to the score only. I'm disappointed Shore didn't win, but not the least bit surprised.

It wasn't just Craig Armstrong who was nominated and won, it included Marius De Vries.posted 02-25-2002 02:43 PM PT (US)

Does it really matter whether Shore won the BAFTA for LOTR or not. If you like the score you can always watch the film or listen to the CD. These award ceremonies are boring self- congratulatory crap and are just publicity vehicles for the film industry. When Fry went on about filmmakers must keep making films because it's a blow for freedom and against the forces of darkness I switched the TV off and read a book.
