I was reading a review of the movie at Aint It Cool and the reviewer noted 2 strong positives about the movie, it's entertaining and the score was impressive. Now, I am guessing the guy saw a preview and if he noted the score then that is a good sign for me.

AICN is now broadcast nationwide on XM Satellite Radio! ... We have headlines from our friend Mindy, while good old Harry will be bringing you reviews, commentary, and feature stories. ... If you've already got an XM Radio receiver, just tune into the AICN Update with Harry Knowles on Cinemagic (XM Channel 27), the 24-hour film music channel. We'll be on the air every weekday during your evening drive. Why spoil the film music channel with Harry Knowles? I just hope to God our favorite soundtrack producer never finds his way onto there. Not that I should worry, since I don't even own one of those fantastic $300 XM receivers.
Oh, and before you jump up for joy about a possible devoted "film music" channel, check out the Cinemagic channel profile...

... Programmed for movie-lovers with the emphasis on music, Cinemagic is where you'll find the great music you enjoy in current release films, and classic musical excerpts from past films. But you'll also hear fascinating features about every aspect of the movies: favorite scenes, film reviews, sound bites from the latest releases, insightful discussions and interviews with the actors and filmmakers who are making today's most interesting films. Listen to reviews by Harry Knowles from Ain't It Cool News.com...
Classic music excerpts from past films? Does this mean classic "film score" or does this mean "classical music?" I mean, am I going to hear "1812 Overture" because it was in a film somewhere or will I hear the breath-taking "Take Her to Sea, Mr. Murdoch" by my man Jimmy?
Oh yeah, does anybody actually own an XM receiver, besides those people with $100,000+ cars?

Am I off topic enough?

Well, remaking a "classic" movie always gives me the heebie-jeebies (think of the fun of the new "Rollerball"), so I will hold off until I see how the film is, or hear from someone who isn't a fanboy.I wouldn't believe anything from AICN, and I certainly would never read anything there. Heck, if I want to waste my time, I'd clean up around my place.

I've been trying to find an excuse to get XM, and now I have one! Hopefully it's REAL film music and not the "MovieTunes" that plays at theatres. To whomever it was with the idea, kudos!

I was watching The Making of The Time Machine on HBO last week. I did hear Stargate at times during the documentary and in the trailers. However, during a lot of film sequences, there was a grand action epic-type theme playing that I hope is in the movie. Sounded wonderful.NP Restoration

I bet "Stargate" was the temp score, they should have gotten David Arnold to score it, that'd be way cool.--Brian
