I don't know about the rest of you, but I have been watching the Winter Olympic games a lot more than I thought I would (thanks to unemployment) and it occurred to me that there are some great commercials (score with great music) running on the air, more notably the new Nike commercial tailored for the Winter Olympics (where clips from one sport link to another sport) and the GE commerical where a doctor visits Africa bringing with him some medical equipment built by GE.These commercials were unusually long by normal TV advertising standards. And personally I believe the length attributed to the overall aesthetic value of the commercial. Both commercials had almost no subtitles (Nike with "Just do it" and the swoosh and GE with "We bring good things to life" or something to that degree), which allows the audience to just sit there for a minute or two and just enjoy the commercial. What a concept. Anyone know if Nike's commercial used original music?

Norman, I think the GE commercial is my favorite commercial musically. I like that music played when he arrives in Africa, especially the voices. If I ever were to score a movie set in Africa or having an African feel, I'd use something like that. Very emotional!
