I'm reading this story about Best Buy (who also peers over the shoulder of Suncoast, Sam Goody, and some other companies who I don't feel like naming right now) teaming with MGM in a deal that will give them exclusives on all kinds of James Bond merchandise. Included in this deal are the soundtracks. Now I wonder.........since the older, better Bond soundtracks are all either out of print or just severely reduced in price (for quick sale), could those reissues FINALLY be coming to pass?

I, for one, hope that the answer is yes.

    Shaun

Well, I wouldn't mind 'em, but as I've got the current EMI discs I'm not busting a gut for them either. I'd like an extended boat chase finale from THUNDERBALL (the 007 Theme), but I still like what I've got.

Many of the EMI CDs work quite well as albums as they are (MOONRAKER runs just 30:51, but it's a good listen).

The extended '007' you talk of Richard is available on the James Bond 30th Anniversary Collectors Edition 2 CD set....Well worth having!

Diamonds Are Forever, in particular, is one sad ass album in comparison to the material left in the film!

The main thing preventing me from buying the old releases are the rumors regarding the new ones...

    So bring them on already!
