**the household awakens from deep slumber as an inhumanly loud squeal of joy escapes from Kirk's throat**

This is GREAT NEWS!! It would be even greater if they expanded what parts of the score were released--the CD barely scratches the surface of Broughton's score--but this is wonderful nonetheless.

    HAPPY! HAPPY! JOY! JOY!

Agreed. This needs to be issued as an expanded promo like the one Intrada is doing for YOUNG SHERLOCK HOLMES.

While I'm excited this is getting attention, it'd be great if they'd re-master the CD before re-issuing it. The original album wasn't nearly as loud and full as it could have been. I guess 'dynamic' is the word I'm looking for.

I know they're older albums, but Snow White, Bambi, and Sleeping Beauty all recieved pristine re-mastering jobs. I'm no sound/recording engineer, but 'Down Under' couldn't be nearly as tough to remaster as those were.

I'm probably asking for too much. Ah, well.

Jeron- those weren't reissues though, where they? I'm not sure.

Reissues like the Little Mermaid and Aladdin didn't get remastered sound..

Well, they were reissues in that they were "out of print" for a short time, and then "reissued" last year by Disney. But they were the exact same mixes as previously released in the early 1990s, which was when (for example) SNOW WHITE had that soundtrack restoration done.

Since the score to The Black Hole is lightyears better than TRON, it will probably never be considered by Disney for a release.

The 25th anniversary of "The Black Hole" is in two years, so you never know.
