Several weeks ago, I wrote to Varese Sarabande about a skipping "problem" on the Damien:Omen II CD.

    My original email...

    quote:
I picked up Damien:Omen II today, and found what may be a problem. Perhaps you can tell me if it is indeed a problem or simply the way the actual score was performed/recorded.

On Track 16 at 1:53, the male singers enter very abruptly, as if the record "skipped."

Is this the way the music was performed/recorded, or is this a fault in the mastering and pressing of the CD?

If it is the latter, please advise how to replace the CD.

    And Varese's response...

    quote:
    Thank you for your note.

There is no mastering or pressing error. The music as heard is the way it was recorded.

We hope you enjoyed the disc.

    Thanks again for writing.

The significant answer is "The music as heard is the way it was recorded."

That answers at least my question, and probably some of the others that have been floating around regarding the CD.

Thanks for the update, Greg, and checking with Varese. It still sounds odd, though, like choir and orchestra are stumbling forward.
